Day 70 of veg. Wtf?!?!?

Ill get to it. I see a lot of people going from veg to flowering in weeks. I am 2 months in to my grow and still not ready to flower. Im using a dwc set up. 600w hps mh light. 18 and 6 light cycle. Plants look great, roots look great. Plants are about 2 ft tall and matured so i know they can be flowered. But will flowering them 30 days into veg hurt my yield? And if so, why flower so fast?. Or is me waiting so long to flower actually going to hurt my yield. I know there are alot of variables, but just imagine all the factors are were they should be, temp, ph, applied nutes etc etc. At the rate i grow i can only get 2 harvest a year vs other people getting 4. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

My plants just seem so small after 30 days. It seems like i would have a terrible yield. But what you said is general consensus ive been getting. I guess ill switch to flowering. Even at day 70 of veg, im skeptical. Im more concerned about the unknown. How are your yields?

Thats what im getting letiing them grow 2 ft tall in veg. Yea im going to make that switch. Thanks man.

Taller generally will produce more. However, if you are to grow perpetually then you need to factor in more than the one grow. If you can get 4 harvests in a year, flipping them at 2' while you get 3 harvests waiting to flip at 3', well then of course you need to compare the totals.

Stretch is strain dependent. I personally have never had mine double in height. My latest was flipped at 2' and might be 3.5' now after the stretch.

Very good point. I guess my logic has always been, the bigger the plant, the higher the yield, but im seeing that necessarily isnt the case. If im going to yield around the same amount weather i wait to flower vs doing it in lets say 30 days, no question im wasting time. They just seem so small at 30. But its definitely worth it to try.

I tried to upload some pictures when i posted. I guess they were to big. Ill try again using a computer instead of phone

I went perpetual and have some coming out of flower and going into flower about every 4 weeks, so I have something in flower at all times. I try to harvest once a month at tital I have about 9 plants in flower at once

I find the majority of growth happening after flipping to 12/12 with a 30 day veg
I don't have a perpetual, the space or want to spend the extra time vegging longer. It really depends on what you're exactly looking for from your grow of how long you should veg. Like what space you have, how often you wanna harvest, how much you wanna harvest

some of the biggest errors I made early on was not realizing how much the plant will grow when you flip it to 12/12. Keep veg feeding for 3-4 weeks after flipping so you don't run into deficiencies. Depending on your space you may not want to grow too big unless you topping and trimming game is good. Space is usually a concern to a lot of indoor growers but if you feel you want it to veg longer go for it. You'll learn something from it either way (hopefully)

Most of the guys banging out fast harvest use genetics with vigorous veg speed & short flowering time with a "sea of green" method(10 small pots will not need as much time to veg as 3 big pots). This is more work imo but it will crank out them buds pretty quickly. It pretty much comes down to knowing the phenotype/s, learning its feed, learning how to put it in its fastest growth phase, learning the veg time to yield ratios ect. Once you figure it out im sure you could do the math.

Im not sure if its my method (dwc) or what. But i just cant see me bieng ready for flowering in 30 days. My plant roots havent even came through the netpot and touched the water yet. Im still hand watering them at that point. But the other extreme is im 70 days in and just now going into 12 12. There is a medium somewhere and im missing it. Now if this harvest yield is worth that extra time vegging, then it makes sense. But my yield usually is around the same as other people i talked to who veg for 30, then flower. So either im doing something wrong or they know somthing i dont. And its hard to say im doing something wrong because my plants are beautiful. Not a dead or dying leaf anywhere. Roots are perfect and so on. Maybe im not getting the full potential out of my plants since they are producing the same yield as a plant half its age. Idk. Ill try to upload some pics asap but the uploader says my pics are to big so i have to try another method

One thing I found when doing Dwc is you don't want to top water too much because then the roots won't go down as the plant will expected you to provide the water and feeding. I had days where in the morning the roots were peaking out and after a top feeding they sucked bacon in. The top feeding will make the roots fill out to the sides first liken the beginning with a water farm. Once the plant is established enough let it do its thing so the roots drop on you looking for the oxygen and nutrients.

Just my $0.02

My suggestion, try a simpler growing system than DWC. Pots of medium is a whole lot less prone to problems, especially for new growers. 30 days would be pretty short though, more like 6 weeks if you do any topping at all.

many growers are high lol they count wrong weigh moist use heavy fert and some strains simply veg fast especially if there hps are high. i think you are honest so expect a 6-7 week veg

See all ive ever done was dwc. To me it is easy now because thats all i know. My only worry with dwc is usually root rot, but i keep my water cool enough that even thats not really a concern. I never tried the soil way because it seemed much more difficult. Things like getting the right mix, and ph, then the possibility of bugs. Im just assuming of course because ive never tried it. But dwc really isnt difficult. I have a few grows under my belt, and i never lost a plant due to the method.

Does anyone have any drying and curing tips? Hang dry vs drying racks. Jar curing etc. Im getting pretty good at growing. Just trying to master all aspects from veg to flower to harvest, drying and curing. You guys have been very helpful. I appreciate all the tips and advice!!
