Abstract
Stem elongation and plant height at flowering in Campanula isophylla Moretti were greater when plants were exposed to far red (FR) light or light from incandescent lamps which had a low red (R)/FR ratio (0.7). The difference in final stem length between FR- and R-light-treated plants was greatest when the light treatments were given during the entire night or as a 3 h end-of-day (EOD) lighting period. Only minor differences existed between R and FR light treatments when plants were given light in the middle of the night. However, FR light suppressed lateral branching compared with R light. The reduction in plant height as a result of a lower day temperature (DT) than night temperature (NT) was nullified by day-extension lighting with incandescent lamps. With fluorescent lamps (R/FR ratio 4.2), plant heightwas significantly less at 15/21°C (negative DT-NT (DIF)) than at 21/15°C DT/NT (positive DIF). Continuous lighting (CL) during the entire night or with 3 h night interrupttion (NI) treatments with R or FR light immediately after the middle of the night was equally effective at inducing flowering, and much more effective than EOD or end-of-night (EON) lighting. DIF had a slight influence on the rate of flower development, but negative DIF grown plants had 24% more flowers and flower buds, and 26% higher dry weight, than positive DIF plants. Practical applications of light quality and negative DIF treatments for the production of high-quality pot plants of C. isophylla are discussed.

Still have some links to find but here are some I read through to trigger my testing, had saved these .pdf's below. A lot of factors discussed/tested like stretch, node spacing, effects on flowering etc., some seem conclusive, some seem like further testing could be done. All in all they were enough for me to try it and as mentioned, not a lot of downside after a few rounds on that environment. Cheers.

Cool thread! Hope you don't mind if I join along. I currently am testing a far red 730nm flower trigger myself, just put into flowering about 3 days ago. What light schedule are you running for flowering? 12/12, 14/10? how long are you running your FR's after lights out?

I skimmed through your journal but didn't read all 18 pages so I hope you don't mind me asking if you already posted this info :)

Welcome Brother Icemud. I Run A 12 X 12 With The 730's Coming On 5 Minutes Before Lights Out And They Stay On 10 After Lights Out. :weed:

Check This Shit Out. I Was Shipped A Bad HLG240-1050 By Online Components. How Do I Know Its Bad Well its Putting Out 25.3 Volts On The DC Side Anyway I Called And was Told I Need To Fill Out An On Line R/A Form. That Was A Flippin Week Ago. So I Just Purchased 1 From Mouser. Why Am I Bitching Its Because This Driver Goes to My Citizen 1812 Light And My Citizen 1812 Light Is Supposed To Keep These Two Nasty Azz's Company. What's up brother, they sure look good. I think that one was all la plata labs alien bubba x alien bubba. I had two males and two fems out back for that one. In another area I had a sincity blue lime pie male and a Bluepower fem and another alien bubba fem. We've done more than thirty crosses with a number of different strains since that one and even though I still have a lot of store bought beans, I think for the comp I'll start five chucks. Glad you guys liked those and man do your plants look happy. Always entertaining in here, keep it up! Looking forward to the finish. And the comp!
