CXA3050-0000-000N00W430F as a possible led choice?

Here are two choices of cob placement.
Heat sink is 28.75 x 8"
I am running HLG-240H-42B to the (6) CXA3070 3000k AB.

I am going to build a 2nd and maybe a 3rd of these lights next yr as money allows.
But for now this one will be over a crowded 2'x3' area
Which placement of cobs is better?

or

I am going to go with this

Ill order 2 more cobs to make this work.

I tried self-tapping screws, but that isnt working.
I really didnt want to invest in more tools...

Running 6 cxa3070s on a HLG-240H-42B without a dimmer.
I measured a Vf of 35.6V and at the Killawatt I draw 234W.
I thought 35.6V x 5.72A was supposed to equal 203.6W
I am glad I am getting the extra watts to cobs, but confused about the reason they are.

There are losses in the driver. You will always be pulling more watts input then output. It's the efficiency of the driver.

It uses the Mean Well HLG-120H-24A to drive it and the fan.
I got one of these sets coming.
If it doesnt seem crappy I plan to get some more and under drive them by running 2 lights on one driver.
I got the 5500K version.
I got a great deal, not the $235 they sell it for on that site.

Does anyone have an opinion on how these will do for veg?

Not happy with my light and want to remake it.
Working with a 23x48 tent.
I shaved an inch off to get it into my closet.
Currently running (6)cxa3070s AB, and I am going to add either (2 or 4) cxb3070s 3500K BB.
One HLG-240H-42B right now and another on the way.

I want help designing a fixture that offers better spread and is just plain better that what Im running

What current were you running for your CXA's?

I too just picked up a 4x2 tent....set it up last night actually...1st tent. I am aiming for around 15-17 Par watts/ per sq ft....probably somewhere around 800-850ppfd overall....the last nine months of 750-ish ppfd is producing over 1gm/watt....

I too am going for a couple of the those 3500KK BB 3070's....but I also have my usual mish mash to go with them as well....

I have
2x CXA 3070 AB's 3k
1x Vero 29 3k Vs. 1
1x Vero 29 4k Vs. 2

8-9x Vero 10 3500K
2x 2700k Vero 13

4x XpE 730nm
630 nm Osram's

I am running 5.7A divided up, so right now like 950mA each I think

I bought 10pack of pots, either I am stupid or they are all broken.
Turn dial and light goes up and down and flickers.
I tried to measure resistance with fluke ad the resistance is bouncing allover the place

and the Gram + /per watt could easily be higher...I have been working with a alien og cutting and Low yielding "sandalwood haze"....making seeds etc, searching for a keeper....so I am the last person growing for quantity 1st :) and I am seeing ridiculous results :peace:

Is it wired #1, #2...instead of #1 and #3 terminals, sounds like the wiper is grounded.

I have no idea how to connect it, have 10 of them, and they all act the same.
Tech on phone at mean well said just connect any 2 and no need to use the 3rd.
Doesnt sound right to me, but hes the tech..

Try your two outer terminals and leave the middle one alone...See what happens> I bet it works.....

There are no good combinations for 3 or 4 2.1 amps from the HLG series drivers. You could run 1 each on LPC-100. 2 would fit on a HLG-185H-C2100 except there's no such thing.

When HLG-240H-C1750 is available it will run 3, but 1.75 amps not 2.1.

Vero just isn't HLG friendly.
Hlg 185 c 1050 a with 4 Vero 18s and 2 Vero 29s puts you at almost max on the driver and almost max on the driver as well, all on nominal current or less.

Nice, I hadn't considered splitting the volts between 18s and 29s. Certainly worth considering especially with the Vero 18 being only $12 now.

HLG-240H-C2100 will also handle 3 Vero 29s, I'm not sure why I didn't suggest that the first time.

HLG-240H-C1400 can handle 4 Vero 29s, only $10 more than HLG-185.
