Where did you get those reflector adapters? The ones i got from plc fit perfect no matter how i postioned the ideal cob holders on the heat sinks.

his picture shows 50-2300AN IDEAL. unless someone overseas is knocking them off and stamping them IDEAL, its the correct part.

Taking light BACK DOWN and going to bust out the round file and vaccum. I assume it only needs a couple of passes before it's down enough to fit.

I actually repositioned the small led hood to go down below the screen to provide supplemental light to the runt and the mutant with a million tops. It's looking good. Screens fuller everyday. This is what it finally looks like atm. Very pleased. Reflectors get you way more light hands down.20160503_150309.jpg 20160503_150246.jpg 20160503_150324.jpg 20160503_145208.jpg

would love to see some kit builds on here. This one just in from a customer

'
I built 3 modules out of 6 kits + the 6 single Maus5 kits. Each of the 3 fixtures is running 2 row's of 5 COBS. I've also added center mono bars on each module that cover 450Nm, 660Nm, and 700. The fixtures are running nice and cool with great heat dissipation off the heat sinks. Driver temperature is barly warm to the touch! Deffinetly top notch quality! Very nice indeed!'

'
I didn't really start building till late Friday night and had it hung and running Sunday evening.'
48 hours to put this together, that is totally cool. Im loving the even spread of light
Cheers

So i'm in the middle of putting a (2) mau5 kits together and all is going well. I ordered a great junction box from robincnn at northern lights and the only thing i'm trying to 'dressup' the 18gauge wire that goes from cobs to my junction box, I mean they are very small and i want to run them through a cable gland on the junction box. Is there something , like sleeving, to increase diameter to securely fasten in junction box. I saw a great setup on "Diy cob pics" section, and reached out but havent heard back as of yet, I suspect he used heavy jacketed stranded wires to daisy chain cobs , and insulation appears to be the size of a standard 110vac cord. anybody have a suggestion, see pic

hey guys, I want to say: I love you all! It makes me so happy and excited that so many cool crafty people are as excited about DIY as I am!!

Some of these threads have become like the wild west lately, anything goes. And I am as guilty of it as anybody.

But for this thread, can we see some actual CUTTER MAU5 KIT pictures. and not take up a whole page with a build that isnt even of the aforementioned product.

cheers and much respect.

Ok, ok, so here is a system i'm putting together, pretty much copied another members layout (worm111? ), (in addition to watching growmau5 video showing 3x3 layouts. this is a 30" x30" layout using 3/4angle aluminun and rivets, and am getting close to powering up (thanks to robincnn J box) Running two paiuri dimmed down with pot. and resister, going to have to wait for a couple of things, then, its COB time-:)

@welight I'm planning on buying a cxb3070 6500k which is on back order. Along with a 5000K CCT one as well. But I don't wanna place the order until I can get them both in one package. How long will it be before you've got 6500k cct CXB3070's in stock, ready to ship?
Please say a week or so.....

@Greengenes707 are your reflectors from PLC for $4 genuine ledil reflectors?
Yes. Straight from ledil.

I just put 4 sets together on 120mm sinks pre drilled and tapped based on the spec sheet(83*off the holder holes). Every one fits just exactly right. Using 8mm m3's. Sits just inside almost touching the metal tabs @Growmau5 was sanding and I think you are having the issue with. You shouldn't have to sand them. The reflectors are sitting completely flush and the tabs are not pushing on the reflector in any way. Your hole alignment is probably off a little. There is not much room for error with the 3590's.
These reflectors were designed for the 3070/3050's then expanded to the 3590 with the different adapter. Seems they didn't give much working tolerance for the bigger adapter/holder.
