My paperwork for mmj was postmarked to Helena on April 5th. On the 20th (4:20), my check to the state was processed through the bank. Still no card on the 26th, but the kind lady at the convention told me to expect the card in 8-10 weeks and it has only been 3. Anybody else recently get their card who cares to share their wait time?

I heard it was running about 3 weeks but that was a bit ago. Mine was sent in on 3-30, a week before yours and was hoping to get it last week, still not here but should be any day so I'm sitting at 4 weeks now. That is awesome your issue date should be 4-20!! was hoping my would be 4-20 lol happy waiting!

yeah it takes about 3 to 4 weeks......technically if they cashed your check you are legal.....if you have a cool caregiver you can give them a copy of your cleared check and copy of your paper work and start buying......

did you guys go threw the Montana caregivers network (MCN)???cause my renewal is 8 weeks so far and 1 of my patients is the same..paperwork got sent out on the 12th of march

No,

the wait times have increased due to the budget cuts to DPHHS. So you can expect to wait about 8 to 9 weeks for your card. The good thing is if your check goes thru then you will def be getting a card (Congrats!). It took mine about 8 weeks to arrive. DPHHS upgraded thier system to digital to speed up the process (it did knock process times down to 5 weeks) but then we had budget cuts so its back up to about 8 weeks now. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

ouch, that's too bad about the budget cuts with record numbers registering, renewing, and switching caregivers and addresses.

GTO I hope they got your shit out!! it could suck if the MCN procrastinated...
Luckily, unlike tymt, mine is just a caregiver change and my perpetual garden is in full swing. Not sure if new cards take priority or if it is first come first serve.

Yeah it sucks ballz....

There is no priority as far as I know. Just a first come first serves basis which is nuts as many folks are in pain waiting for thier releif. But then who would decide who is priority and who is not? Hopefully Montana will get the waiting time back down to 5 weeks.

I did go through MCN, but I left with an original doctor's statement in hand; my paperwork was up to me to get in. The conference was April 1, and I think that is their policy now - they had too much trouble dealing with everyone's paperwork.

Yeah they cashed my check on 4-20 also. First time as a patient but have been a caregiver for a lil over a year. I am always waiting at least a month for patient cards. I am glad MCN is putting on the amount of clinics around the state that they are. Easier access for those without the means to make it to central or western MT. Once the paperwork goes through, you should get your pretty quick due to it being a renewal, GTO. Best of luck to all.

I got my new patient card today. I mailed the forms April 5, the check was cashed April 20, and I received the card on May 14 for a total of 39 days.

Its real simple. The registration fee is at an all time low. Hence less money to pay for labor to process. I imagine they also have added an investigator to their staff as well. Montana has had a rapid growth of patient numbers in such a short time, due to the abundance of these clinics. that means that they are really getting their asses handed to them. As this workload increases, they will add staff. All this takes time. Every app. has to be process through screening. Just imagine you gotta make ten birdhouses every day to fufill your workday. All of the sudden, you gotta make 45 of those fuckers. Next day gotta make 75. Then you are given 1400 to build and told to finish when you can. That is exactly what is taking so long.

I feel in that situation, a patient with their copy of doctor rec. in hand can medicate. i dont believe a caregiver can sell their patient medicine until the actual card is in hand. no problem for a patient, because they are bound to have some kind of hook-up, and doing so is not illegal. funny how that works? you can buy it from a drug dealer or friend, but not your assigned caregiver. bottom line is: what are you willing to defend in court if you are ever prosecuted?
