Current Culture (DWC) Tips & Advice

I'm new to DWC and using a Current Culture 32 bucket 13 gal set up. I'm having a real hard time running everything smoothly. I need some DO's & DON'ts to help me run the Grow more smoothly.

Please help

I am running:

FLOWERING (1st week into it)

PH 5.5 - 5.9 (trying to keep it at 5.8)
67 degree water
71-77 degree air
Indica Grow (grand daddy purple)
10 Lights (12/12)
300 gal reservoir
45-50% Humidity
1500 CO2 PPM's
400 PPM's

PROBLEMS:

Some of the plants the middle leafs turned yellow after to flower flip. Also the beginning of the grow I had some nutrient and growth issues. I Vegged for 5 weeks instead of the usual 3 week Vegg. Due to some bad advice i was running high PPM's for the first 4 weeks of the grow and my pants suffered because of that. Since I pulled back on the PPM's. 20 out of 32 plants turned around 18 inches and I decided to flip them into flower.

New to it n startin out @ 32x13? I admire your bravery, lol.

I am just about ready to fire up a CC-UC4 8gal setup myself, and when asking, was pointed to this place.... (i dunno if I can actually link another forum here or if thats frowned upon, so just in case, its the THCFarmer>MJ growing>tree farming sub forum... what info is gathered on the current culture under current systems is there...

I wouldn't grow in such a big res for a beginner , to me it's easier to start in something small like 2gal and go from that. You use less nutes and it's easier to control everything.

Edit : just read the entire post and see you have quite a few plants going so disregard the 2gal thing...

what's your starting water? what's your nute recipe and conversion rate .5 or.7? what's pushing your air and thru what? Are you drawing the air from an co2 enriched enviroment? how did the ve cycle go for you? Less is more with the nutes in the UC. Check out thcfarmer treefarming sub forum under current.

Starting water is 150 PPM's and around 7.1 PH

My C02 is at 1200-1500 now I have a 36,000 BTU (3 TON) Vegg was rough because the advice i got in the first was to use none UC nutes and that stunned them in the beginning for about two weeks and thats why I had 5 week Vegg before I flipped to flower.

Invest in a RO/DI get your ppms down to zero, add cal/mag to 100to150 ppm add the rest of your recipe. How are your roots looking? What's your top-off routine and how much are they drinking?
When you say your res is 300 gallons you mean your entire system right?

The total system is 365 gal on top of it i have an external res for 300 gal. They say I should feed them thru my res but it is outside and would take a long time for it to fill the 365gal system up. TO feed thru the res is a little complicated because I have to fill the 300 gal with exact nutrient amount and if ill make a mistake then ill have to drain 300 gal of nutes and water and that would suck so for now i feed it like this: I put the nutes in the 30gal bucket to dilute it and then i feed it to the head unit by 5gal buckets at the time (pain in the ass but its better then pouring the nutes directly into the head unit of the system and burning them like I used to do it in the beginning)

They are drinking but i don't really have a good method of taking it (well i didn't figure it out yet)

If you're mixing all your nutes together, then adding water, you are locking out nutrients.
Also, you still need to be aware of what nutes you are adding, and in what order sometimes, to the water to prevent lock out as well.

lol - no i never mixed nutrients together in the same bucket (did you mean in the separate reservoir?) I add Nutrients separately and give at least 30 minutes between I add different one.

Can you explain what nutrients the plants (Indica to be more exact) needs during the flooring stage to get the most yeild and THC concentrate? or is that depends more on the strain and the genetics?

Cool. I hoped I had read that wrong. Yea, I've just been following your thread and thought I'd clear up how you were mixing. Sounds better the way you just described.

Sup bro. I have been growing in a current culture 8 site 13 gallon setup for a long time now. I mix the nutrients in the same bucket together all at the same time with absolutely no problems. Only thing that locks out nutrients to the plants would be high/low ph.

Well I try to ALWAYS to keep my PH within 5.8 so I don't know if that is the problem.

is it really necessary to add nutes that carefully? i am running a 300 gallon UC system and i just add nutes one a time to the main control bucket and havent noticed negative results. Takes me 10 minutes to add nutes to get my EC number up to where i want it...for reservoir changes i am a bit careful and adding nutes can take an hour....but i am not saying i am doing it right. Should i be more careful?
