Curing Disaster?

The buds and small leaves dried within 4-5 days of hanging in cardboard boxes with air circulation to the point where they were crisp with outside leaves crumbling on contact. However the stems did not 'snap' when bent.

Because of the extreme dryness I decided to move to curing jars, carefully removing all stems. After a couple of days they felt a bit moist.
I've been airing on regular basis, but fell asleep last night after opening the lids! They've been exposed to air for 8 hours!

Normally, when airing (for 10 minutes or so) the smell fills the room. This morning, after the jars being open all night, there was no oder at all.
Have I totally screwed up? Is there any remedial action I should be taking?

Your fine dude, seal your stuff back up in the jar and leave it to finish curing. The smell will come back don't worry!. Burp the jars every 1/2 weeks from now on.
