Clones taken from a plant in flower will have wacky growth at first before they revert to veg. I think I read that you took your clones from your flowering plant, so this would definitely be the reason for the single leaflets and the curled leaves (those are exactly what you'd expect). I know this from personal experience and from threads I've read.

I'm very impressed by your plant(s), especially for a newer grower. I am relatively new as well, but don't have much besides poor results, poor yields, and too many problems to count. In fact, I think I've encountered every possible problem so far. Haha. At least I've learned a good deal in the process <sigh>

My current plants are being scrogged and, based on your grow log, I'm concerned I waited too long already in veg. I've been waiting until the entire screen is covered because I was worried it wouldn't fill in otherwise. You flipped yours to 12/12 when the screen wasn't very full with only a few tops, but you ended up with a ton of tops and a packed screen. I think I'm in for trouble when I flip my timer

I'm glad you stuck with this journal, it has been an enjoyable read.

BTW, that's a nice fade you have going on. Looks like it'll make a smooth smoke.

Thanks!

Ya I did not expect it to fill up as much as it did, I was worried for a few weeks when it wouldn't stop its vertical growth. I seriously have my cooltube touching the ceiling of the tent now. You could always trim it down before the switch if you don't think you will have enough room. Hell you could even put another screen above the first to help keep it tucked how you want it. Just keep at it, I just read a lot and went with what I felt was right for the plant.
I was thinking the same thing with my clones, I have since given one of them away and am keeping one for a mother plant. She is doing much better now. I really think it was the plants genetics that made this so easy, it showed very little stress through out the grow if any at all. But I did spend a good bit of money in the process so there is always that =P.

She is looking very close to finishing now, she has been leeching from the larger fan leaves now. Its slightly disturbing to see things just withering away and drying out. Will be chopping her down tomorrow afternoon, hopeing she won't fade much more before then. Would like her to keep the current color with out showing much yellow around the buds. Was startled when I opened the tent and saw all the yellow leaves. This happened when I dropped the ppm from the 800 to around 400. Guess its all a part of the process though. Will take a good bit of pictures on harvest day, need to get some batteries for my camera though =P

Here are 3 from yesterday.

Those are some delicious fat looking colas. Looks like a massive yield and a great plant, good bud/leaf ratio :) I'm drooling. From what you've shown I'm seriously thinking of ordering some beans. I can't wait for the smoke report!

I wouldn't worry too much about yellowing tips, leaves etc. The calyces tend to stay healthy even when the leaves start dying off. All the crusty stuff gets trimmed off, leaving beautiful mellow buds behind. But, too much drying/dying off can make curing difficult.

It's interesting that you started getting amber trichomes when you still have some white pistils. I've flowered three strains so far, some more than once, and I haven't ever seen a cloudy trichome until after the pistils are fully ambered, and amber trichomes take me ages. At least for my plants, when all pistils amber I still have several weeks left before I can even think of harvesting. I can't be sure, but I might have waited a bit longer before starting the flush to let those pistils finish up.

For my scrog, my vertical space is limited, so I think if the canopy gets too crowded I'll have to sacrifice some tops and snip them off :-/ Trimming it down wouldn't do anything since I haven't let it grow upwards at all, I've been spreading it out over and over and now my entire screen is a carpet of branches. A node is starting to branch for nearly every 2x2 square. lol. I wish I could run back to my cabinet and switch it to 12/12 now, but I'm out of town for days. haha. Crap.

I'm sure you've heard of the lucas formula using the same nutes you are using, especially in bubble buckets. Why did you decide to follow Gen Hydro's schedule instead?

Also, what is your temp/humidity and ventilation like? I remember you reading that your 200cfm fan doesn't blow much, which surprises me. My 400cfm fan is too strong on half speed, and I find myself turning down even my 6" max fan with a dial to 65% even on the fan's native low setting (201cfm). I'd kill for a totally silent fan that blew 100cfm.

I actually read about the lucas formula half way into my grow and just decided to stick with the GH feeding schedule. My next grow will be using the lucas forumla. My temps were normally around 70-74~ with the lights on and 65-70 during the night. Humidity was always 40~. For the fan I have a 400cfm inline fan now, which was upgraded when I got the tent and light setup. I had it on about 75% after switching to the 600w hps and it keept temps below 75 easy (even in the 3x3x6 space). It's in the basement so I don't hear it at all unless I am down there.

Cut her down last night with the wifey, really nice time smoking and just trimming for around 6 hours. Have a decent amount of bud and a huge bag of sugar trimmings that I will be making butter/bubble hash out of. Everything is now hanging back inside the tent with the fans both on low and the RH around 40%. Got my hygrolids (http://www.hygrolid.com/) and my 62% RH boveda packs (https://www.bovedainc.com/) in. Curing should be a breeze with them. Will weigh out the yield once in the jars.

Well here is the bud yield, think it looks like a decent amount for a first time.

Well I have decided that I will just be flowering my "mother" plant due to a trip I am taking in August, would rather not have a plant in the middle of flowering. As soon as this dries I will be flipping her over to 12/12 and trying a few new methods. Going strictly bubble bucket this time. Also will be starting the lucas formula and see how it differs from the GH schedule.

Still going to be doing scrog though.

Nice Journal! I started growin the hog by th seeds cause i got some free seeds from a friend after i mentioned this strain.

Finally a good journal about it! Very similar to how i grow as well.

Looks like you made out well in the end.

let us know what the final numbers are!

Well it is still in the curing stages so its loosing a bit more weight, when I weighed them in the jars it was around 10 oz's. Each container has ~30grams in it. Not all of it is super dense bud but its all very sticky and looks like it will be good smoke. Here is a picture of the yield in jars.

It's the first time I've seen those hygrolids. You're blessed by 40% RH; that should make growing and curing a breeze. I'm so jealous. I had some problems curing properly when I started out since my area is sooo dry (~18%). I got serious with my technique, and wound up very picky with my hygrometer choice. I found HUGE variation from one to another, especially cheap ones, and couldn't trust them. Hopefully your hygrolids have good ones, but I've never seen a good one that small.

I have these hygrometers:
A very accurate Oakton brand analog - http://www.amazon.com/OAKTON-Thermohygrometer-Wall-Mount-Product/dp/B000NI6986
small sized Caliber digital (gets good reviews) - http://www.amazon.com/Western-Humidor-CALIBER3-Thermometer-Hygrometer/dp/B0007W1EA6

The small one fits in jars easy, as it's about the size of a lighter, and gives results in seconds (analogs take a while). Even though people seem to think the Caliber is very accurate, I compare/calibrate it to the Oakton, and make the appropriate adjustments (mine is about 3% off). Cheapo hygrometers can be off as much as 15% in my experience if they work at all (like the ones sold for lizard aquariums at petco). I'm not willing to be so unsure. My finished product used to smell weakly like dried grass clippings, now they smell better than most bud at the dispensaries I've gone to.

BTW, I use Boveda 62% religiously. They were a GREAT purchase. I got big ones for big jars and little ones for little jars. Result: perfect squeeze, perfect smell, perfect smoke, and peace of mind (only if the buds weren't already thrashed by improper curing, as one can't bring back the dead). Just make sure most/all of the curing is done before you pop in the jar with the boveda, as they can only buffer so much. They get fried easy if they find themselves in too humid a location for too long, or if the lid is left off. I've been meaning to see if I could recharge them by placing them in the appropriate environment, but haven't got around to it; I weighed each packet with a milligram scale when they were new for this purpose.

Sorry to hear you have to lose your mother plant, it's a hard decision, but I look forward to seeing the comparison to Lucas. Lots of people think it's too old to compete with modern fert schemes, but if it produced results then it always will.

I too live in a dry climate but i found it easy enough to control humidity with a small drying cabinet to keep humidity in i just open it once in a while to keep it at %50, but pretty easy wherever you want
