In fact, the whole point of the exercise, on a macro economic scale (leaving aside the obvious and terrible toll in human suffering for just a moment) is to cost Putin more money than he can afford to spend, crashing the Russian economy and turning his own power base against him.

Therefore, we should welcome the Russian air force if it wants to come out to play- the more spendy toys we splash, the better. Nothing blunts a war machine faster than losing air power- and little else costs more or takes longer to build or replace.

No, the truly scary thing is that in the Twenty First century, calling in an airstrike is about as difficult as getting someone SWATTED in Queens. Just smile and dial, baby!
No so much the difficulty anymore with newer laser designators that incorporate GPS & celestial navigation - but more to do with the time sensitive nature of air support.

Dude. The Cobra has been rusting at National Guard bases for a decade now, lol

Apache Longbow!- and I guess we'll see if the new stealth chopper is ready?

Super Hornets from carriers and F-15e will handle both air to air and air to ground. B2 won't be deployed until we're sure of air superiority- which won't take long. It never does. B1 is a museum queen. There's one in Denver, you should go see it.

F35 and others will handle air combat... the others won't have pilots, so they can turn inside anything with a pilot in it-and if they get shot down, some video game jockey in Utah says, 'damn! Scramble another one for me!'

F15 is retired 09' .....You still see A. cobra's in use butt longbow's are the way to go your correct there.......I always wanted to fly one....Almost tried to apply for a reclass .....It's hard to become a warrant officer tho:sad:

Stealth aircraft have changed the game completely since Desert Storm; we would not need or want to put our troops on the ground. Let the Ukrainians handle occupation of their own country, we just provide air support with smart munitions that were specifically built to sniff out and destroy Russian armor.

A couple of 'highway of death' nights and no Russian will want to stand within 20 metres of a Russian armored vehicle, let alone drive one into the fight!
you do realise russia has its own stealth fighters /bombers ???

Highly sophisticated phased array radars do have a snowball's chance of shooting a stealth aircraft WITH ITS BOMB BAY OPEN, and not before. Hint; you're not finding that radar on a thirty year old self propelled anti aircraft batteries!

The first iteration of stealth aircraft are older than most people think; both the Rockwell B-1 And the SR-71 were beneficiaries of stealth technology. 'Older' designs like the F-117 are still amongst the darkest in the business, since the new designs have focused more on performance than outright stealth.
A handful of stealth bombers is not going to win a war against Russia.

Obama wouldnt commit to one anyway.

Why are you running around telling us what we should do? Write a letter to someone in government who cares...

We havin' usselfs a gabfest is all, Massa... don't beat us!

No one wants the whole war, not us and certainly not Putin-head. We just want to make it unacceptably expensive to continue.

He can't complain about tanks being destroyed if he's busy denying their existence in the first place, right?

Russia is not ISIS... They have thousands of tanks. It would be an act of war for the USA to attack them.

Nobody is going to do anything because the Europeans will APPEAR to act and then do nothing. Again, it is about the gas and oil. Get used to the USA as a foreign failure for the next 2 years.

IMO....Ukraine rightfully belong's to russia....This is not some USSR Era country that was acquired as property during a treaty....Russian's faught fierce battle's during WW2 and thousand's of live's loss in major battles there for that land...Rightfully, IMO it belong's to them...Either way I don't believe my sleep schedule will be changed. Let, them have Sevastopol, I can assure you no other European's only Russian's and Nazi's have died there

I happen to agree that's what will actually happen. I just wish Obama had the balls to carry Putin to his endgame, which is bankruptcy.

It isn't war if you don't attack their equipment unprovoked, it's self defense. That goes double if their tanks are sitting in your flower garden!

Saying you shouldn't throw them out because it might start a war is pretty stupid logic. It didn't work against Hitler and it won't work against Putin-head.

But war create's economy? I learned that in high school.....It's only after an undetermined amt of time that it become's an actual drag upon the economy.....It create's job's and a reason to use excess material's..Brings old offline factorie's back into use all the Blah Blah stuff...For awhile at least it's more of a jump start to thing's . ..As long as China has Russia's back Bankruptcy is a far off thought o_O

LOL.

Calling Putin a Hitler when its precisely the EU and the US who are supporting Ukraine's banksters, oligarchs & far right and fascist groups when its not mercenaries or private militias using nazi symbolism (Right Sektor, Batallion Azov, etc etc etc)...all that after supporting Islamist thugs in the Middle East against a secular state like Syria (and remember Irak, what it was and what it is now)... how funny.

The so "friendly" US of A asking the EU to take sanctions against Russia when in the end it will make far more damage and harm to the EU than the US or even Russia. Just look at the protests and riots emerging in Europe because farmers are starting to lose their crops thanx to these dumbass decisions ,but I guess the 330bln of total trade between the EU and Russia doesnt look appealing to the US (whos only trading 38 billions with Russia). Afterall, TAFTA is coming, the chains must be tightened right?

Americans, why dont you first take care of your crumbling economy, racial riots, immigrant filled southborder towns, millions of crippled obese gmo overfed welfare recipients, water shortages, corrupted politicians, corportion controlled violent police state before putting your nose where it doesnt belong? Seriously, keep out of Europe, thanx.

Europeans are not asking for help, their spoonfed corrupted politicians are, thats the difference.
We dont need anything from you, no double standard "democracy", no "liberalism, no "human rights" and surely not any kind of military help. The first US invasion on European soil after WW2 was enough, thanks.
