it isn't a shroom, like i've said to somebody else not that long ago u should never eat any wild fungus no matter even if you're 100% certain because it could supposedly even have some kind of bacteria that can make u sick

Stop. I've been eating wild picked mushrooms for forty years. Anything can have bacteria that will make you sick. Mushroom lore abounds.

Most mushrooms are not edible because they are too woody, too small or just taste bad. There are far more tasty mushrooms than hallucinogenic ones.

Your odds of getting a poisonous mushroom that tastes good enough to eat are low but your odds of just happening on a hallucinogenic mushroom are far lower.

Don't eat mushrooms out of the woods unless you know the species. Learn them from someone else who knows them. Learn them one at a time and do not attempt to transfer your knowlege from one region to another.

Start with unmistakable species. Puff balls, shaggy manes, horse mushrooms maybe two a season.

Do t be afraid of them but don't be stupid.

And yet we get "is this the kind?" threads at a rate of one a month.

Anyone can win a.lottery. Most don't. I have never found a hallucinogenic mushroom while foraging. Ever. I have been lead to spots. I have been taught what to look for and I am certain that experienced hunters consistently find what they seek.

Because, they k Ow when to look, they know the environment and the tendency of the species. But just happen I guess upon a magic filled mushroom by chance in your back yard is extremely rare. I believe of all the pictures and "is this one..." posts we have seen one single incident where the mushroom the novice found was probably psychoactive.

Do you think anyone will read our.posts.or will they publish yet another picture of some little brown mushroom asking if they hit the jackpot.

Without mentioning where it grew, if it was solitary or in groups or clusters, what color the spore print was, how it stained.if it did, how the gills were attached to the stipe, what the base looked. Like, if it had a smell. What did the various growth points looked like, if there was a persistent anulus......

Just a picture of some shriveled brown bit in a dirty hand.

There is no easy way guys. Do the work, get a field guide specific to your area, make some friends, get up every Saturday early and walk through likely spots, learn. To get your eyes on and keep them on.

Or grow them.

Careful w the shaggy manes... When they're first popping up the slightly resemble an amanita in its early stages

We always slice them in half lengthwise. If you can see an outline of a different mushroom within, especially that egg like vulva, then you look at it, go whew and wash your hands.

I don't know if just a little juice of an amenity is bad but why not?

If you don't know what it is for dead certain then don't eat it or you could be certainly dead!

In Richmond where I grew up there was a mushroom that looked a lot like the magic mushroom common to the area but deadly. It would take about two weeks then liver failure would set in and 50 years ago that was a death sentence.

Just don't do it!

:peace:
