The idea is two big totes, each tote has 4 littles holes on both ends (say you have a square, one hole in each coner.) then theres pvc pipe that goes through with a bunch of holes for air. Theres also a big hole on the longside, on the top in the middle called a gateway. Its something that lets the worms migrate to the other bin to harvest the castings. I have two big extra sturdy totes and might try this style. All in all thanks for all the help getting my worm bin together guys.

Check out redwormcomposting.com for tons of info, especially using totes for bins. The owner has done a lot of experimenting over the years with different "ideas" and how they work in the real world.

Also, a great guy to do business with. Very generous with the amounts of worms you order.

I didnt think about the 50 gal smart pot. It has air holes throughout the whole pot, so would be perfect huh.

Thanks for all your guys help, much appreciation.

How do they migrate out the gste??
It is attached to a string and you pull it open bro. It sounds like a cool idea, especially the PVC full of air holes that go through the bedding.

I have these 27gallon "Comannder XXL" totes that are super heavy duty, but now might just use a 45-60 gallon smart pot. Seems super simple..
