Controversial Defoliation Increases Marijuana Yields

Go look threw bens thread, if you can read past the circle jerk and think for yourself there's several links posted there.

The guy says he grows grapes and they use defoliation with grapes but it's used no where else in agriculture. Links are in his thread.
Look kid, if you're gonna take someone on at least get your facts straight and in proper context.

Would someone who is a vineyard manager please explain to this smart ass the whys and wherefores of certain ag practices such as grapevine leafing as it relates to red wine quality - reduces herbaceous and vegetal characters? Doesn't have a GD thing to do with photosynthesis, shit-fer-brains.

and here's Ben being him good ol' self. I shouldn't have even posted but I was up late under the influence, there's no point talking to you or anyone from your little cult. You aren't looking to debate anything you are looking to win an argument. I don't have time for people like you.

Also I brought Raider up as an example for folks to look at and judge for themselves. Not to argue about the guys methods. He's no longer with us and I'd like to show him respect by not arguing on a forum with his name involved. That was not the intention at all. There's plenty of other folks over at IC that use it.

People are literally afraid to talk about it here, because of you and your fucking know it all hoarde.

You're implying he had a control group, used clones, had a standardized garden with ALL cultural factors the same, weighed the plant material of the control group and compared it against like plant material of the butchered plants..... and then replicated the exact condition and procedure 3 times to insure a sense of integrity and real world value?

Or.....you telling me he reported another bunch of anecdotal evidence letting the human element of "I see what I expect or want to see" influence his outcome and conclusion.....and yours too?

I dunno man. I think often rollitupers take things to one extreme or the other. I'm like most and believe that you should just let the plant do what it's supposed to do and try not to eff it up. But, when grow space is limited I also realize there are times when you made need to just go ahead and do some trimming. If you've got a leafy plant, it may be necessary in a small space. If your plant is not as leafy just leave it alone. Just saying. I have trimmed before, not always. Once three times during flower and it still budded out terrifically.

Def not saying I am a more knowledgeable or more skilled grower than you or anyone else. But, there may come a time.

That has not been my experience. IMO they may think they need to trim as they blindly follow The Herd's advice. ALL of my plants have been crammed into each other such that every branch is shoved and grows into the canopy of its neighbors. Here's a perfect example. https://www.rollitup.org/t/spin-out-for-chemical-root-pruning.9114/ Check out Week 6.

Excuse me? You're the one that dodged my question which was relevant to the discussion. You want to debate, bring it on but you should know me by now - I will not take spin, half truths, anecdotal evidence, conjecture or your bullying attempt to ramp up an Uncle Ben gangbang. Act like a man.

So folks at IC Rag "use it" eh. Another pot forum full of quackery. I guess a thousand flies on a pile of shit can't be wrong.

If you can't take the heat after being the one to throw the hot pan first, then get out of the kitchen.

I'm in a cult!?! Where am I supposed to send all my money?

While I don't agree with Uncle Ben's "bull in a China shop" rebuttals I do have to say that every time I've taken his suggestions they work as advertised.....and the times I've ignored his advice (more times than I'd like to admit) have found out the hard way he was right all along.

I try reading the technical stuff about how plants work, but my eyes glaze over....too much Latin for my taste. I'm thankful that guys like UB break it down to a level even I understand....most of the time.

...This is not outdoor, our lights only penetrate so far. Find out how to best utilize your light.
This IS outdoors and you still get popcorn buds at lower levels. It's just what cannabis does due to influences of chronological aging at various points in time, translocation of plant resources to certain locations, apical dominance and hormonal responses.

This aint about me as you try to make it personal. This is just what the plant does and no amount of turbo photon bombing is gonna change it....as much as you wish it so.

As I and a few others have pointed out in the other 20 or so defoliation threads, this has NOTHING to do with light. Now, go back to those threads, read, and perhaps you'll figure it out.

gosh, i wish i could have more larfy popcorn buds, but i defoliated a tad.

and all i got were actual decent sized buds.

it makes me sad that i didn't get to spend (read: waste) any time trimming larfy, shitty, fluffy bottom nugs.

i guess ben just doesn't know what it takes to make a plant tick.

Yes, you have what appears to be about 25-30 healthy plants that have been lollipopped. Given the size of those buckets they should turn out to be monsters.

And yes, the picture of buds says you can keep plants alive and healthy.

But.....it's my personal opinion that you could have had a better yield (it's an assumption) had you topped your plants using Uncle Ben's technique or mainlining....both require using the bottom nodes.

I'm sure you're a good grower and probably have more experience that I do, but I like how my plants grow out (refer to my journal) which doesn't involve defoliating.

Defoliating during flower makes bigger buds....

....like small hands makes your dick look bigger.

It is an illusion.

Proof. Defoliate during flower. And watch your growth stall for a week. A week that your buds could've been growing bigger.

heres a question.. HAS ANYONE GROWN THE SAME STRAIN SIDE BY SIDE.. ONE NOT TOUCHED.. THE OTHER LOLIPOPPED?...

like maybe 3 or 4 times in a row all the exact same everything.. just one left alone and the other lollipoped or other super crop methods.. just to see what works and what doesn't?

Even if they had their account would be dismissed as anecdotal.

Such is the irony of the internet.
