"Conservatives are stupid" ~science

Funny. I keep hearing about ivory tower refugees in college, but I never met any. All of my professors had extensive real world experience they brought back to the classroom with them. Even the liberals, since their peers tend to be smarter, they had to justify their political views more than the others- like 'campus conservatives'-who were simply given a script and told to believe it.
Boy we sure did have a different college experience. I went to Mich and was as liberal as I was taught to be. I had one prof that had real world experience and he made fun of the Pollyanna liberal ideals. We hated him.

People are educated by those who have never stepped foot off the school campus. They have a lot of (usually liberal) theories that hold well in the classroom but when you take them into the streets they fall apart. So, of course more people who are educated will be versed in liberal theories and policies. As soon as they learn that the professor spouting all their liberal ideas is a moron, the better off they will be.
you can't be serious..

an especially active, vigorous advocate of a cause, especially a political cause.

You definitely aren't the brightest bulb in the house. Is Michael Moore also not an activist because he's rich?
GW just because the kochs aren't in a picket line?..activism take on many forms.

think OUTSIDE the box..stop being so rigid in your thinking..black and white.

No of course not. I thought people would get my point but maybe too subtle. I posted bullshit studies to combat other bullshit studies. I bet if I tried I could find some conservative sociologists that published a paper saying conservatives were more intelligent. Any study done with suggestive variables relies on the person giving the study to interpret. As humans we have bias whether we admit it or not. Our bias is involved in our interpretations.
talk about oxyMORON..good luck with that.

When I went to college I had one professor who actually had owned a few businesses, had traded on the floor of the CME and had about 50 sets of professional initials after his name, had every license the trading world has to offer, Had several published books on securities trading, had a PHd from Columbia and would not accept any answer that wasn't hard thought.

He was a thorn in the side of the liberals. 80% of the students hated him because he was HARD and did not accept answers that were not well thought out. If you talked in his class he would throw you out, and he would randomly pick people to answer questions from the work assignment 2 days earlier. You really had to be on top of your shit because he failed people left and right, got a lot of flack from the Administration for failing students too. He said it was his duty to send people out in the world with an education, not hold their hand until graduation.

A brand new member hoping to have an intellectual dialogue with folks who hold differing opinions?

edit: apparently the moderator weren't fond of No Ones debate style and have silenced his or her voice

I'm not understanding your post. You have to picket to be an activist? Am I the one being rigid here saying Koch's can't be activists even though they fit the very definition of activists?

What an odd post Sky, AC mocks me saying Kochs can't be activists. You mock me and call me rigid then say activists come in many forms....

Disproving the OP one post at a time?

my pathology professor takes attendance promptly when class STARTS and ENDS..you receive a check mark for each and in his mind if you are on the cusp of the next grade..if you attended he'll bump you and if you didn't..oh well..and don't ask if you didn't.

last semester i had a short, fat, fuzzy, fugly female professor (who i really liked) for psych and she used a point system..if you were late to class 2x (role call) it was considered an absence..2 absences and your out of her class REALLY..she actually threw people out when they showed again..had an A all along however the only place she could be subjective and have you pass/fail was on her homework. We had a film presentation in our theatre on "women in suffrage throughout history"..and had to write a paper based upon what we saw and how it affected us..one of the topics was female circumcision and that was what i wrote on..this practice equates to nothing more than the mans desire to have a tight vagina and pleasure himself..what it means to the women is a lifetime of pain from having your clitoris sliced off..can you imagine having your dick cut off?..not able to urinate properly as your vaginal lips are sewn shut..the most horrific..childbirth..can you imagine having to push a kid through a hole that only a pencil dick can penetrate?..if you look at the mortality rate in africa, female circumcision makes it to the top 20..the only continent that makes it..since that paper, she clearly treated differently. i ended up with a C and was 1 point away from B..i asked her to reconsider the point..what's worse she never posted my grade on that paper and never answered my request for the grade..

if you're going to ask for opinion then be prepared to receive opinion..professor is too used to recent high school grads with little opinion or life experience..

i asked those around me and those who i had to partner with for group work what grade they would give me..perhaps it was me? all were shocked to find out it was C.

she ended up getting mugged in one of our parking lots on campus..karma, bitch.

EDIT: WWYD? take the C..take the class over..or fight it?..are there any members here who teaches college (or did)?..like to send my paper to you to judge.
