AN? Really? Advanced Nutrients.......run away,,,,run away.
They work, but they are a rip off.
Yes, they are, if you fall for their marketing and buy 100 diff products. I run the 3 part pH Perfect in veg, and sensi bloom in...well....bloom. I have been having great results so far, Have not ph'd my water a single time(I reccomend you check it to make sure the first few times). I also only run big bud, and overdrive(and bud ignitor, but I got it for free, wouldnt really reccomend spending the $100 on it). It doesnt work out to be insanely expensive, as long as you dont buy all their 100 different products. Some people hate it, and i dont really get why, the base isnt THAT expensive, big bud is a bit pricey, but it works really well. Overdrive is basically just pk 13/14, late bloom finisher, works great, little pricey(I paid about $45/Litre). Its all up to you in the end, I reccomend AN, some people hate it, some people love it.

Hahah what do u recommend?
If you want some cheaper alternatives, check out GH FloraNova series, the Flora series(AN Makes the Jungle Juice 3 part which is IDENTICAL, and cheaper), Dyna-gro if it's available(never used it but heard great things), And House and Garden(pretty damn expensive, but also works extremely well)

Edit: I've also heard excellent things about the Connie, was going to run it myself this time but it was on back order, and I needed bloom nutes so I grabbed a gallon of sensi bloom instead, which has been working excellently for me, not a single problem/defeciency. Runs a bit hot though so im doing 3/4 Strength.

I will never say AN doesn't work.
I don't like how they try and sell you many layers of crap to get what I can do for FAR less.
Whats with the grower level shit anyway? What crap! How about you just send them your bank card.

I don't care for H&G either. To much stuff at to many ratio's and that simply creates waste. I find their products tend to make a brick of my soil as I'm not inclined to "pour through" my money.

If you must go synthetic. (in no particular order).

Hesi
Dyna-Gro
Canna
and anything you can find that does not use Urea as a base for it's N.

40 days from seed inside my cabinet in DWCunder 60w led lights. I have been using only AN PH perfect SensiBloom A+B from seed at 1/2 the recommended dose. I dont use my PH and PPM meters anymore.

LOVE the advanced nutrients PH Perect lineup. I havent had a burnt or twisted leaf since i started using it. No ppm or ph meter ever. big fat budzz. IMO its cheap for what you get. I use it at 1/2 strength or 3/4 for a heavy feeding.
Ive used 2 and 3 part php for veg, both were good and I am currentyl using the 3-part, and I use connoisseur for flower, along with bud candy. I dont use any other extras, i dont think it would make much difference in the end.

The Sensi Coco 2 part bloom is one of the best liquid-based nutes that I have used. Top 3 ranking at least. The girls thirst for it.

They were out of Sensi this time so she gave me Connoisseur 2 part bloom for coco at the same price. It's a very similar formula. I have yet to try it but I did notice that it has amino-chelated potassium, which the Sensi does not. It's the first time that I have seen potassium in that form in a liquid-based fert. Also, the rest of the micros, as well as some of the magnesium are amino-chelated, but there are others that also do that. Greenleaf Mega Crop, for example, amino-chelates their micros in addition to their calcium and magnesium. I know little about chelating, but I have read that amino makes it more readily available and is considered by some to be a superior form of chelation.

Both the Sensi line and the Connoisseur line contain humic and fulvic acids, which is a nice addition. They don't list the specific amounts of either but they are the first ingredients listed on each respective bottle. There is also a surfactant. I don't know if this is really needed, but I am not going to complain. The base seems to have a smell of molasses to it, but this is not listed in the ingredients so it could be something that only smells similar.

The PH thing is really funny. I tested it at 7 different strengths. Starting with a base tap water PH of 6.8, I added nutes at .5ml per liter and worked my way up in half ml increments until I reached 3.5 ml per liter, which gives about 1.4 EC; a value that I would never exceed under normal circumstances. Every one of those values gave a PH of about 5.8. I think one of them gave 5.9, but that was the only variation. Out of curiosity I mixed only .125 ( 1/8 ) of a ml and it still gave that same reading. This is less than .1 EC!!! I then added Potassium silicate (Protekt) after mixing a batch at 1.2EC in order to try to "break" it. It still kept the same PH up until a little under 1 ml per liter of potassium silicate at which point I finally "broke" it and caused the PH to rise to about 6. That's one heck of a buffer!

It's very interesting stuff.

The Sensi 2 part bloom is the worst liquid-based nutes that I have used.

After 9 weeks the clear liquid bottle had green spherical objects floating about in it and good luck sending it back to Mike for a refund.

Canna flores for me, they even add pH neutral silica, does AN do that? No.

I do have Botanicare Kind. I currently mix it with Dynagro FP for veg. It's really good stuff and I really like it. I own MAAANY different brands of fert. I can never just stick with one thing. It's a bit of a problem sometimes. But this thread is about AN Connoisseur.
