Hey @Fubard and @curious2garden thanks for the tips for how to tweek firefox -- I'm loving it!
Sometimes it's a pain to figure out what to enable for things to work properly, but avoiding all the ads and popups is awesome!

I don't even see ads on RIU anymore... ;-)
If you are on a Windows System you need to always run an outgoing firewall. I use ZoneAlarm Free (they also have a free integrated virus scanner). I run it on my virtual machine installs of Windows too.

It's all about how DRM is handled, and thanks to the DRM on CD's windows media player/Groove Music can refuse to play as the DRM is to prevent you from ripping the CD. Usually another player such as VLC gets around that BUT if you are looking at CD's from such as the era of the Great Sony DRM Rootkit Scandal it can be an issue getting them to play full stop.

To get back to the other problem, there's no reason the latest iTunes should not work on Win10. This is another of these cases where I'd have to physically be at Clayton's computer to see what is going on for it will be a silly setting somewhere that's being a PITA.

I do have VLC because my wife needs to watch the BOSU video every other day when she uses it. Going on three years now. I could go in there, shut the thing off and instruct her word for word. I don;t understand why she needs to play it every time, she should have the routine down by now. Is it just me?

Sorry, off topic. The VLC doesn;t play my cd installed music either. I tried to play some Mazzy Star, then the Pretender's Singles, and nothing. It doesn;t even see it.

I can give you remote access, but I need you to look at it while I'm sleeping. I have a hard time watching other people on a computer. If you moved the mouse in circles instead of just going in a straight line I may yell like I have tourettes and then I would feel bad since you are trying to help.

Would rather not think about remote access, if I make a mistake I can't rescue your Windows and that's something I ain't gonna risk.

Will dig a bit deeper, meanwhile you should be able to download Windows Media Player but something is stirring in my head about DRM-protected media, and how you would find the "option" in the old style control panel in Win 7. Now, i'm working in Dutch here so when I figure it out the terms used may not patch what you see on the screen exactly, so bear with me.

Will be back in a few

Ok

Start => System => Control Panel => Autoplay

Scroll down to "CD", see the option for "Audio-CD", set to "Play audio cd - VLC player" or similar, save.

Let me know what happens.

Just reset my hp envy x 360 laptop to return. I tried it out for about 2 weeks and although it did not have very much on it at all , it took about 6 hrs to finish the reset! I was not expecting it to take so long to reset. The Mac book pro only took minutes to reset. Not too sure what I’m going to get at this point.

Depending on what you plan on using it for… I really think most laptops are about the same build quality today (junk) and the only real difference is what's under the hood. And even then, I don't think there's a huge speed difference between this quad core processor vs that quad core processor etc especially if you're just checking email, watching cat videos etc. That being said…. My wife gave me her old Toshiba laptop when we first met. It is now 12ish years old and still runs like a top. So much so that I bought a newer super cheap Toshiba just to have a webcam. It is now 3 years old and still runs like a top. My wife has gone through 2 HP's in that time. Just my $0.02 on things.

that's awesome Neo! Toshibas sound great! I will definitely keep that in mind .
I bought a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Tablet 12 inch screen last night.! I pay just 10 bucks a more a month to get internet access to my16 GB plan! So I don't have to go through comcrap or pay the extra money for another internet service. It has the Verizon wireless LTE superfast connection with all the hot spots...It has a touchscreen and a really nice pen So far its working really great and the track pad is not so super sensitive crazy. The speakers are pretty good, the keyboard is working smoothly. Its not so overwhelming and keeps things prettty simply, unlike the MacBook pro. This one might be the one. I have a couple weeks to put it to the test. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for the information.

totally stoked on this Painting App that came with the Galaxy. It is simple and easy to use. Just what I have been looking for. THis is my first painting. I am happy to say it represents my style rather well. Now I will see if I can upload it here.
Yeah! it worked. I was afraid that the tools would still be attached here because when I saved it they were.

I am having problems loading these paintings up here...Could it be that they take up too much memory for tis little Galaxy Book? I cant even get into my Cave to see all the new Paintings I made. The touch screen is a must and the pen too. Microsoft Surface 4 has a good rep and might be comparable to this one with more storage... . Shame if its the memory because I really liked this Galaxy Book a .lot.
It like the picture starts loading and just stops. Is anyone else having this problem?:?

Yesterday I thought about an old laptop that was trashed about 5 years ago.

I did not remember taking the HD out of it. So I dug through the recycle heap and found
it. Sure enough the HD was still in it. I took it out and amazingly the HD still works.

Add 80 gig to my porn storage capacity. Winning:hump:

I just built this pc for my son to game on. It’s a very simple build for now. But I’ll be adding upgrades in time.

The case is pretty cool and allows for all kinds of modifications. And the cable management system is really good.

Look how clean it is with all the wires hidden. Plus it will help airflow.

Parts list:
AMD Ryzen 5 2400g (with built in GPU)
16 gb ram
240 gb ssd
Msi b350 tomahawk motherboard
600w thermaltake psu
All in a cooler master, master case pro 5

Future upgrades:
Nvidia 1060 6b graphics card
1-2 tb hdd for additional storage
Corsair 280mm water cooler for overclocking the cpu.

Pimp. That case got great reviewz. Cooler Master does make some pretty sick looking cases too. I've liked this one ever since I laid eyes on her.

I've been trying to root my cell phone with no luck. Several web sites and a few
downloads later and still no luck. I found one site that wanted $40 to do it
but of course I want it for free. Youtube did not work either. The ones I tried
the apps did not work or the videos are in some foreign language.

Any of you folks have experience in jailbreaking cell phones?

This is what I have to work with:
Hardware -> Samsung J3 Emerge sm-j327p.03
OS -> Android j327pvpu3aql3 Marshmallow 6.0.1

So far my experience has been shitty.:-(

OK, I give up.

Phone ran one of those 20 minute updates. Now I get alerts as to what's draining battery. Cool.

WTF is 'Exchange'?

I can't find it in settings. Is it an app?
