I'm so confused!!! Did someone actually answer my question?
If that was a question, the answer is YES taste can be affected.
chuck somehow seems to believe those minerals magically transform and the base elements somehow change as soon as they enter the roots. He keeps saying burn nutes vs sugar. How bout he inhales some half processed nutes, then tries arguing the difference. Thats gonna be very similar to nute filled weed.

If you want organic, just look for an OMRI seal. If you suck at growing, duplicate a system. Some systems use chem, which is fine. Whatever helps you grow. Heres one of the (not cannabis specific) growers whose opinion and explanations I can get behind. Check him out. https://www.youtube.com/user/growingyourgreens

As usual some RIU egomaniacs completely ruin a decent thread. ONE page of valid contribution and FIVE pages FULL of 3 people arguing and bickering like elementary schoolers. You guys RUIN RIU for everybody that is here to learn. Now people have to sift through FIVE fucking pages of you children arguing and name calling.

This thread is beyond saving. Just lock it up and call it a day.

You idiots are destroying RIU

I for one was not trying to start an argument. Just wondering if it was better to flush before harvest but i keep getting conflicting answers. I would never argue about any pot related subjects as I know crap about it. Yes a dialogue without calling people stupid and dumb would be refreshing.

I dont want organic, just dont want my stuff to taste bad. I had issues last run with stuff I used, made it taste like a chemical plant. Flushing did help with a couple of plants that finished later and were fed pure water

please study very closely

Cations and anions are both ions. The difference between a cation and an anion is the net electrical charge of the
ion .

Ions are atoms or molecules which have gained or lost one or more valence electronsgiving the ion a net positive or negative charge.

Cations are ions with a net positive charge.

Silver: Ag + , hydronium: H 3 O + , and ammonium: NH 4 +

Anions are ions with a net negative charge.

Examples: hydroxide anion: OH - , oxide anion: O 2- , and sulfate anion: SO 4 2-

Osmosis is the spontaneous net movement of solvent molecules through a partially permeable membrane into a region of higher soluteconcentration, in the direction that tends to equalize the solute concentrations on the two sides.[1][2][3] It may also be used to describe a physical process in which any solvent moves across a semipermeable membrane (permeable to the solvent, but not the solute) separating two solutions of different concentrations.[4][5] Osmosis can be made to do work.[6]

yeah, it all makes sense now, you are a hippy feel good dude and believes if it's "ORGANIC" or OMRII listed, that somehow you are growing clean weed. This truly shows I have been arguing with a moron. My last post in this thread.

from that link

"People buy organic because they think it's better for the environment; it's not. It's safer; it's not. It tastes better; it doesn't. It's more nutritious; it isn't. And these are all misconceptions that have been deliberately promoted -- according to these authors -- by organic farmers and organic proponents despite the fact that scientific evidence doesn't support any of these claims."

if you need to continue on with your feel good organic bullshit, go to this thread, right up your alley

I've used synthetic too. You are stupid as shit man. Blog posts, ohhh. What about all the studies contradicting that. Show me how organic is not reducing pollution. If you argue processing, what about the chem factories and how they acquire their product? What about the known problems caused by excessive nitrogen in the runoff? Do you know one of the things that commonly causes algae blooms, and thus dead lakes?
I just suggested organic because its hard to fuck a plant up on organic.
I tried arguing extremely dilute h202 with an "organic grower". After a bit, I was told to post my h202 opinion in the organics section. I already knew from other growers who actually do what I had posted with great results I've seen in person. But why don't you take all your bs there and watch the flood of links and pissed of science majors. All you can do is find the stupidest things to say. I got a D- in 8th grade. Im a feel good hippie. All info for organics comes from proponents of organic growing (so all studies should be thrown out)
You're so close-minded.
Smoke some weed. You deflect way too much asshole. The whole point of this argument, was me calling you out on posting a damn picture and defining terms not really important to the question, which was whether nutes will affect taste. THEY FUCKING DO. Reread your stuff. then heres an index of shit to read before you come back. http://pubs.nal.usda.gov/sites/pubs.nal.usda.gov/files/srb0802_0_0.htm
The studies vary, but the consensus is, its still better for you on average. Oh, but any source that contradicts you has to be wrong, I forgot. Penn and teller know all and ae really thorough when it comes to scientific method. LMAO have you ever tried a mg tomato vs an organic? I'll mail you some of mine. Its been raining for 3 week so their starting to taste normal. Heavy metals, pesticides, and chelates are all absorbed but can have half lives of 6+ mo. That means only half is processed in 6 fucking months.
To stay within legal bounds, remove yourself from society and become a hermit, never to spew ignorant bs again. But DONT kill yourself dumbfuck. Hope the MG food is sustainable in the wild. Oh wait. The fert always runs out in the end. Unlike worm casting/fish emulsion farms, bat houses, and most other sources of what I call organics.
Not to be offensive, I have a cousin with autism, but are you fucking impaired?

If you have problems, organic is simple. Prepackaged organic is really poor. Take the myco inoculants. They load those with 100x's as much trichoderma as endomycorrhizal forming colonies. Trichoderma eat mushroom spores, such as those endo mycorrhizal propagules.
Chem isfine, but if you feed heavy, I notice better taste with 3-4 week flushes, which hurt yeild. 2 weeks plus 5d-2w cure usually makes the cleanest smoke. Just dont use things like MG. Super chelated, and always has a foul taste.

you are a fucking idiot, REAL growers read their plants and adjust. They can use MG or any other nute and grow dank that tastes awesome.
the nutes don't affect taste, shitty growers do. Jesus get off your organic high horse.

all your feel good organic crap goes out the window when you use the chemical compound H20, dipshit
Way to argue that dumbfuck point. Cannabis cannot be legally classified as organic. I guess I should rephrase natural, you dipshit. You're arguments are worthless and show your stupidity if you keep getting picky about semantics asshole. You either never tried or succeeded at organic, or have an agenda. Its more likely you are just a shit growe who needs the premixed crutches.
Yes natural can be expensive. But local natural amendments are free. Growing without fert in naturally composted dirt is natural. And cheap.
You just keep deflecting. Nutes affect taste. Nutrient density affects taste.
You probably dont feel sick after eating things like poptarts. I still eat fucking hamburger helper and am currently smoking mg weed before you keep mentioning my organic high horse. But crap is crap.
You are one of those people that smokes low mids thinking its some stuff that gets put on shelf 2 outta 5 when its really stuff the dispensaries wouldn't release without water-curing then extracting.

You wouldn't be able to use a pro soil fertility test kit if I gave you one with detailed instructions. Just shut up. Quality of nutes always matters. Good tasting chem is always 2-4x the price of mg.
I puke at secondhand cig smoke btw, my lungs are probably a full twice as efficient as yours in all likelihood. And Its not nicotine sickness. Its shitty smoke. If you do smoke grow your own. I've found its unsatisfying to nicotine consumers if its not sprayed with radioactive bullshit. You likely need that chem in your weed to get high.

Do the tests I've been doing for 3 years as a heavy cannabis bud and extract consumer (1-3 oz week).
Smoke a plant gown with only mg soil with mg fert. Then water cure it.
Smoke a plant from pure foxfarm products.
Smoke some hydro brands (thats where nutes are less important, hydro always tastes cleaner but emptier than soil.)

Then do/buy some proper "organic" by which i mean natural.

Yields tend to be diminished, but the taste is always better, even when full of "nutes" and covered in mites (some more real life experience). Just ask around asshole. Explain ocean solutions pure seawater extract as plantfood grows. Every plant they produce looks better than anything you could grow. And they like to use pure sand. Quit being close fucking minded.

you are just a dumbass hippie who falls for words like organic, where was organic 20 yrs ago? Natural, that is hilarious. I am really done this time. you probably believe in some fairy tale religion too. you can't fix stupid. good luck with your organics, lmfao

Are you on crack?
If you had only been in my forensics 101 (political debate) class.
I'd be reprimanded for not bothering to source, and you'd be kicked off the debate for failure to properly rebuttal.
What does religion have to do with this?
I've been an informed atheist, sometimes optimistic agnostic since I was 9.
Dude. grow. up.

Synthetic all the way here lol. Well since moving to hydro anyways. Run a microbe tea though, and jury's still out in that one? Wanted to get away from the peroxide for a bit, its pricey and hard to find here! Hey also not trying to get my stuff to taste better, just dont want it to taste shitty. Just trying to find out if it was actually the specific product I used, answers have been across the board is all.

Teas are great, especially foliar fed. They aren't very effective if you feed lots of p though. You dont want to go above 4 imo. Peroxide kills teas, and shouldn't be used if you can avoid it. The most I've heard of working with teas is 1 cup 30% peroxide to every 50 gallons, plus teas weekly. And It likely is unnecessary at that ratio. In hydro, usually 1/4 strength nutes for 1-2 w is the appropriate flush. Yes I know the thread on flushing being bad.
Its up to you.
If you prefer synthetic, thats fine, many people do. Just don't skimp on the nutes. Use the highest quality brand you can. The plants will thank you. They'll taste good, and have no chance miracle grow disease lol.

What product did you use, and how did you treat them the last 1-2w? Did you cure?

Studies on curing all point to that being a wanted process. The plant cells are kept alive long enough to exhaust leftover sugars and starches to the point where the cells truly are "empty". Chlorophyll degrades. Smell increases.

Studies on the flush are only definitive enough to say that its up to you. So flush is less important than cure.

oh my effin god, you just repeated EVERYTHING I have been trying to say, if you don't break down the sugars, starches, chlorophyll, your weed will taste like shit. you don't break down the salts during drying and curing. it isn't the nutes that cause bad taste, there isn't more expensive salts, there are just better chemists at making a complete formulas. For fucks sake.:wall::wall::wall:
