Complete Dark for 5 days/pre-flower

bravedave i and maybe others would like you to continue this untill completion. In my simple mind i would prefer less variables. Try to keep this simple. I belive plants grow with more health when left to do their thang. Secondly if you faff too much it could leave you guessing should anything go wrong. My belief on this experiment is irrelevant. But so your not scratching your head i would advise leaving them leaves as best you can, obviously removing dead matter and eventually dead practices lol. Keep growing don't over think it don't baby them theyre plants.
Hey, thanks for response and, no, I don't mind the backhand either...better than a "bitch slap". ;) If memory serves the inventor of the lobotomy was given the Nobel prize and up until some time in the 60s some still thought that driving that ice pick into the brain was beneficial.

In general I have kept things pretty simple...

and
will continue to do so. But you are correct, I think I fall in with too many of the first timers here with my "over-thinking". Only wish I had the ability to have the control group, like my buddy had, so as any difference would be documented here too as in the end it will only prove that you can lose lights for 3-5 days and just turn it in to your flower start and hopefully a successful finish.

Turned lights back on at 20:00. A little short of a full 3 days of darkness. I did this because I wanted my 12/12 to go from 20:00 to 8:00. So 69 hours of darkess!...I mean whats better than 69? Oh wait, 77 is better. Why? 8 more, of course. Seriously the ladies look great. I hope they piled on the hormones. They went in pretty dry, and they came out even dryer so I game them a nice drink. All drank at least a gallon without spilling a drop (3 gal. poly bags).

A little worried about the clones though as they look worse than they did on Thursday. They seemed to like the 3 a day spritzing much more than the 2 and 1 day drenchings. Hopefully I can bring them back to normal...pretty sure I lost at least one.

In any case, we are off and running. I said I would provide pics right when the lights went on for flower and here they be...

How about this.
the first time dont do it.
the next time do it for three hours next do it five.
or two times each with the same strain.

Let us know what happens
I skipped all that none, 3, and foreplay and went straight to 69, buddy. The ladies seemed to eat it right up. Grow 2 is still being formulated and of course will be predicated on the success or failure of grow 1 as well as on reasoned input from people much like yourself...if not yourself.

sorry bd in a rush yesterday lol read back and think i misread your post about spritzing and snipping the yellow off the leaves on clones. I leave the dome on till there's roots..... Then harden them off afew days. Mostly they will wilt but they will harden off if it gets too much for you seeing them suffer you can put the domes back on and take them off then put it on then............ Lol my odd leaf turns yellow ill snip it off. it slows the clones upward growth minimally but not the roots.

Talked to the ladies this morning and asked them about the 69 and they said "Is that all ya got?" I see they get a little rowdy after a being up all night drinking. ;)

Clones look a bit better this morning. Even the one I thought was a goner. I assume, at least early in a flower that I can nab a couple cuttings if need be...right?

yes mate in all truth i know personally you can root clones up to 4 weeks in. They rooted the same time frame as clones taken from veg but spent 2 weeks reverting but for me had no increase or decline in vigor i left them unfondled but equally loved. In return they give me a good harvest, not better than my best in the same space but equalling my average ( unfondled)

The rationale for this has already been thoroughly discussed. Many, if not most, are in your corner although few expressed themselves as eloquently as yourself. There does seem to be a bit of a contradiction in your statement however. You first say you tried it, excuse me, "tryed" it, but go on to wonder "who ever thought of that idea". Would not that be you? In any case, I hope you liked the pictures.
naa it was 5 dayz in darkness as i pulled them away from the others and sat in a box i had made for them for 5 dayz after that 5 dayz they went back into my hps room were the rest were about 5 dayz pistils 6 more dayz after that she opened up flowers just under the pistils

7 days since the end of 69 hours of darkness and the start of 12/12, and just like their poppa who generally ignores the "Guns not allowed on the premises" (otherwise only the bad guys would ignore them)... all of the ladies have shown up packing pistils. I don't have a previous 7 day to compare and my iphone's camera leaves something to be desired but figured I would share them anyway...let me know if you like or whether I should dry them out and make some rope.

New Pics above do not show my LST attempt. I did try LST on a couple for most of the week but it actually required more room and seemingly helped little with opening things up so I released them...Next grow I look to incorporate more fully. I am still thinking about lollipopping a couple in a week or so....however I am rather inclined now to just let things fly. Maybe bravedave is not so.

14 days since starting 12/12. Me thinks the ladies are feeling groovy and getting chunky. While scratching, watering, and grooming last evening there were a few nitrogen deficient, looking fan leaves near the bottom, many of which detached easily. As I have been almost nothing but green since day 1 this probably disturbs me more than it should.

I could not have asked for more perfect July weather for my set-up. Hoping August and September are similar.

I just did this a few months ago. Posted a thread to log the process. Varies with strain. I had two in the room for 4-5 days. One produced more resin the other did nothing. :peace:
