Totally forgot about sticking these plants in different soil.

Both are WW strain, outdoors. They're fed Miracle Grow All purpose + Dyna gro pro tekt + magnesium. These guy's eat a lot. I think I haven't been feeding them enough Miracle Grow at 2 tsp per gallon. Had to remove some yellow leaves off both.

This was at night, so the leaves are droopy.

At first glance the one in Scotts Supersoil is taller with same node spacing, (the pics are bad angle, but it is at least 4 inches taller)
but both seem to have the same amount of foliage.

The Ocean Forest plant's leaves look healthier to me, what do you guys think?
The Scotts Supersoil plant's leaves look healthy as well, though different.

Not sure what to make of this cus they aren't in flowering yet, which is weird cus it's almost Sept and my other outdoor plants of the same strain are already in flowering. We'll see if Scotts supersoil can compete with FF Ocean Forest...

Scotts look like shit. The leafs are not taking in any nutrients and they look like hell.
Keep posting and keep it going till the end so we can see the outcome.

yea you may be right. I have some bagseed flowering in scotts supersoil and they aren't doing so well. Started yellowing like mad in early flowering and it all went downhill from there... couldn't keep em happy.

btw Ganja, was lookin at the pics in your sig. Why do your plant leaves look so green and waxy? I've seen many other plants that look like that but I'm growing several strains and none of em look like that.

I did a comparison with FFOF and Roots Organics, FFOF won by a mile in many ways. I have a thread started somewhere in here.

FFOF plants grew fast as hell from seed into veg and then in flowering really packed on weight fast. Roots organic killed 3 seedlings and grew slow until flowering, but by then the soil was just a soil.

I can tell you why...lol...It is amazing how many people are on the OCEAN FOREST Hype...

First of all let's take a look at the pH of each soil to shed some light

FOX FARM - pH is between 6.3 to 6.8

Super Soil - 5.5 to 6.5

I like to say that some of that is advertising because soil usually has a set pH before being used.
With that said, Super soil is probably closer to 5.5 right out of the bag
and
And Fox farms is probably closer to 6.3 (which is more ideal for growing in soil)

The reason why is because Super soil uses More Bark and other types of forest compost which tend to be more acidic...but provides a lot more aeration and less compaction over time

In Hydro 5.5 would be great but in soil that will cause some nutrients to be locked out. This would explain why the Super Soil leaves are so droopy...the nutrients are there, but not available for the plant to use.

Dolomite Lime can easily correct that problem :)

So, I am going to do a similar grow to compare the two, BUT, I am going to add Dolomite lime to both in order to stabilized the pH closer to 7 .... then we can see which soil would come out on TOP..lol :)

In my Opinion, Super Soil would win Hands down in some respects if Lime is added

Super soil feeds for up 90 days and cost less than 10 bucks

Fox Farms feeds only through Veg and cost over 30 bucks...

Do the math...as far as convenience, for example, A WATER ONLY grow...Fox Farms wouldn't keep up....

For 30+ dollars, Fox Farms should be able to feed the plant into late flower...but it doesn't...you still have to spend EXTRA money on other nutrients. Super soil if amended right will not require any additional nutrients throughout veg and flower....seems to me like Fox Farms is getting rich off poor POT consumers who are either too stoned or unwilling to do the math..

EACH TO HIS OWN...but IMO...FFOF is a WASTE of money...

Another thing to point out is TOO many nutrients...LOL...

More is worse and Less is better when it comes to feeding plants... FFOF and Super soil both have nutrients already present in them...but Super Soil has enough for 90 days...

So you shouldn't be adding extra nutrients to it anyway...that is common sense...lol...you are making the plant LESS healthy by adding nutrients to a soil that already has more than enough...

So I am definitely scratching my head over here wondering why you even added Nutes so early on...It won't give you a bigger harvest.....in fact you made the Super soil even more acidic by doing that...

Honestly your experiment did not Prove anything because it looks like you forgot to do your homework before popping the seeds into each soil...

FFOF is awesome but its no "supersoil" but add a little light warrior and happy from and some FF peace of mind products and it could be...
