Colorado Plant Counts

Can anyone point me toward rules or regulations that get more specific on plant counts than the language in A20 and A64?

A conservative read would be 3 vegging and 3 flowering plants per person, limit 12 total per household from what I can get out of the constitutional amendments and Denver regs. However, the amendments don't say 3 vegging, 3 flowering, they reference "mature" plants but do not define "mature".

So a more aggressive interpretation could be that your plants aren't mature until they are ready for harvest.

I'd like to go with 7 plants this season for my wife and I but don't know if I should pick up a red card for the 7th. We've had red cards previously but don't shop at pharmacies so really no need other than legal protection.

The legal protection is a significant factor imho. Law enforcement has much greater respect for medical grows.

I would get a red card plant count of say 15 and have seven flowering and seven veg.

I don't think I can get a 15 count with just our red cards. So I probably need to get in as a caregiver for someone else (doable) or just drop to 6. I may still be in the database as a caregiver for all I know, but I don't have any supporting paperwork on hand.

Go see Dr. Bruce Reimers. Ask for a renewal, say you left your card at home since you grow your own.

Charge for visit $65 + $85 for a 25 plant count. He does other counts for less.

Hey Snaps, I have been trying to track down a doc that will do an increased count in NoCO, happen to have any recommendations for a reliable one? I can't seem to get an answer out of the offices when I call them aside from a few who have outright said that they do not right increased count rec's.

Northern Colorado is pretty bleak due to low patient count. Most doctors are in Denver, Boulder, Springs.

Its worth the drive, just pick a pretty day and enjoy the ride, Colorado is truly beautiful.

In Denver I would use cannaqual(.com)

Awesome, thank you for the recommendation. No objection to the drive, amazing scenery here I really can't get enough.

from my understanding, laws are changing or have changed in regards to high volume cards. do your research. high count cards are bringing a lot of attention these days, and the docs signing them also in the spot light.

I agree with Snaps that LE respects medical growers more, but at the same time I wonder if that could potentially bring attention to you (as picklejr2 has stated)

Best of luck, man!

Thanks all, I have a foster parent lined up to take #7 so I'm planning to run 6 this year and not hassle with anymore paperwork.

@Bugeye not sure I am following that logic? What paperwork, the fact that you go to a doc? Then staple your extended count on the door to grow.
Anyhow, Holos Health in s boulder Dr Cohen. He's legit and inexpensive to boot.
med is going to be a much stronger defense a as well as peace of mind.
Good luck man regardless.

Peace

Neither my wife nor I have a condition that would require an elevated plant count and I just don't feel like playing that game. I'd rather not deal with any of it. She'll have a good home and I'll get an ounce or two for the collection. All good and less stress for me.

One way that I know can get you an elevated plant count is edibles. If you don't like smoking and only medicate with edibles it seems to be easier to get an elevated plant count due to the fact it takes more plant matter to make edibles.

Sent from Northern Colorado.

Sounds like you have a good, stress-free plan worked out Bugeye. Way to go, best of luck!

Not to steal your thread, but on the subject; do you all think if you are going to have an elevated plant count that having a Doctor recommend it is the way to go? I know I have read where the MED is cracking down on patients with elevated plant counts/Doctors recommending them, so I was wondering if that still gives you a much higher defense in court, or if that actually makes you more vulnerable? (since they can visibly see you have elevated plant count on the registry) I know past the 6 plants you have to prove in court that it is medically necessary (same with past 2 ounces) and does not provide quite as a sure-thing defense as the 6 plants.

I just got an extended count card today at Canna Qual in Denver. Easy peasy, they write cards up to 99 counts without objections provided you can show the need. I asked plenty of questions due to the "crackdown" that I had heard of, and they gave me a copy of a letter they got from the state that explains that they are allowing them without issue now, and wish to have the doctors submit information for research purposes as to the types of conditions and reasons behind people getting increased counts in order to start a basis for determining dosage needs since there is no research available really.

Seems fine to me, and I feel better having it for sure, posted that paperwork straight to the door when I got home haha.

By the way Snaps, good call on Canna Qual, the people working there were cool, explained things that I had questions about, and even though it was pretty busy (wednesdays they do half days) it went pretty quick and was overall a great experience.

They are allowing them without issues now, but what about in the future, could it cause issues for someone with an extended plant count? Don't mean to be skeptical but just trying to consider all possible outcomes

Thanks for your input, man! Sounds all good and i'm glad to hear that
