Coconut oil extract

I am not sure if this is the right place to put this but here we go...
I am trying to create a cannibas extraction for my dad for cancer treatment, so I used a magical butter machine, and put in 1 oz of bush grown bud variety and strain unknown, (but was very strong to smoke apparently)
and two cups of coconut oil.

I then had the temp on 71 degrees celsius or 160f for 16 hours a day for 3 days.

It has produced an amberish coloured oil, which I strained all the plant matter out of, and then let set into 10 gram size pieces.

my tester, who used to be a regular smoker but never really used edibles, (twice in his life and not recently)

he took a 10 gram amount of oil at 9pm and felt not very much initially, but after going to bed at midnight and waking up at 7 am was as high as he has ever been in his life, and it lasted for almost 18 hours total, with a fully relaxed not high, but not normal sensation lasting for over 24 hours.

My question is is this normal? my dad is not a user at all and I don't really want him to get super high, so I am concerned that this will turn him off very fast. If that is the reaction how much should I be giving dad in order to treat the cancer, but not bomb him out entirely..
or is the bombed out part just something he will have to deal with in order to get a decent amount of benefit from the oil anyway?

thoughts? experience? suggestions?
TIA

Start with small doses till he develops a tolerence for it. I think its normal needs to be good strong medicine. Cannabutter or cannabis infused oil has higher levels of THC cbd and CBN cannabinoids that fight cancer. Good luck
