Where do you get those glass tubes that you use for air cooling? I heard you can buy them off ebay, but I don't know what they are called..
they are called hurricane glass...you can find them online for a few bucks or beverlys grafts....whatever you do dont by the cooltubes from growshops...way overpriced...i think my whole setup with glass, fan and ducting was under $30...the store boughts are atleast double that

Or...... whatever you do, don't be closed-minded to the point of ruling out cool tubes because you made the mistake of valuing your time below minimum wage. Took less than one minute to plug in the bulb, plug in the ballast, plug in the duct, and turn on the light. When I change from MH to HPS, less than 30 seconds, or if a bulb were to burn out. If I have to pick up and move, my entire light and air movement system can be disassembled and removed without a trace in less than 5 minutes. I've done that 3 times already. Only want one light for veg, can take one out in less than 1 minute. Want to move your lights up and down, you can do it with a finger. Want a different angle from the lights for better coverage, you can move them.Want to use them in a closet, then a tent, then back to a closet, then a friends garage, you can move them around easily.

So cheap DIY PLUS 40 hours of your labor over the first years or
cool tubes and about 1 hour of your labor over the first years.

I have nothing against DIY cool tubes. I was ready to try making my own until I learned more about them and knew I'd have to move around. I just apparently value my time more than Nick does and am open-mineded enough to know different options fit different people's lives differently, so "my way" isn't necessarily "right". For me, cool tubes were a much cheaper, flexible, and better option over the life of product. Whatever works best for you. Nick's ingenuity and skills in making a cool tube may be your best option.

(Yes Nick, I admire your DIY cool tube and say great work. No need to pee on my parade to make yours look better.)

:wall: how is buying a cool tube cheaper and more efficent than making one.....the diy has the same efficency, ease, and productivity than the store bought at a fraction of the cost.....dont be mad that you have no building skills and have to overpay for things that can be made at your local hardware and craft stores..and if you go back to the original post he wasnt asking where he could buy a cooltube..we all no we can buy a cooltube at a hydro store or online..he was asking where he could locate the glass for it...next time read the question before you answer and dont post for the sake of posting..... congrats your a moron...

Only children call people morons and make false statements about other people. You have no clue what my "building" skills are. That makes you a fraud in addition to being immature. Instead of refuting my fact based information meant to be helpful, you call me names without factual basis. Grow up.

Lol.. it's a coco thread... I will have to agree with Nick I know what he can do!
Dude has skillz..

But I understand where you stand too G4R.. But the cool tubes in my local discount hydro expo store still cost 129.00 for just the tube, socket, and reflector..
I ended up buying a very large and nice air cooled hood.. For only 89.00 because it was used.. lol.. used that kinda stuff doesn't go bad..
And I going back to buy the lumitek 600 ballast it's also use but I think he is only asking like 100 for it... So that will put me at 2 600 hps's and 3 400 metal halides..
But next run I am using those nefty 4k dual spect 600 MH.. They are off the chain..
I really like the metal halides for flowering for a number of reason's first they put off a lot less heat.. and just leave the plants looking so perfect..

They dont have as much resin but damn the smell out of this world..

And I am sure if you use a Hps in the last 3 weeks the frost would really shine through..

My goal is to have something that will at like nature..

Like having 4-400 MH on for 12 hours and two 6 hps's on for 6 hours to act like the brighter part of the day and to lower temps..

I will have my new set-up finished by the end of next month.. And might be getting a room mate that will be putting half the money up.. So we can go bigger..
And I will either be using a whole bedroom or a 8 x 10 closet with C02

I love the coco!
Here's my current girl at Day 38 of flower.
80% Galuku coco-coir / 20% Perlite. 50L pot. 400w Digital ballast. Stealth grow.
Hydro running to waste.
Canna Nutes.

This is day 73 from seed. Coco is the shit.

My only complaint is over watering issues when plants are quite young, still struggle to get that aspect right. Any tips coco lovers?

ok, how do I order some of the RioCoco Green 'n Grow Premuim Coir in the US?I cant find any contact info for Water Baby's Indoor Grow Supply?! Maybe I just missed it?

No you didn't miss it.. It recently closed down..
Not because of money but the owner got a medical permit in Colorado.. I am just friends with the owner... But I will find you a link asap..If possible.. One company I know that supplies RioCoco is Fafard, But they are bluk orders only..When I started this grow..I had problems finding coco after water babys closed..

I ended up finding some at Calaways nursery. But I got the mixed grade.. which I like alot..

I suggest you find somewhere close to you.. Because anyone that delievers mediums charge alot for shipping..

But one thing that was not mentioned is that the worlds largest manif.. of coco is Sri Lanka and they are in a civil war...So it's not as easy to find anymore..

Here is the link

www.riococo.com

For once in my life it's getting hard to find..
