Below is an e-mail I received from Tanya about an upcoming meeting tomorrow night. I would encourage anyone affected by MMJ please attend.
It doesn't matter if your a patient, caregiver, MMC owner or even the general public, please come and voice your opinion about what the County and eventually the City is trying to make it harder for SAFE ACCESS of our Constitutional right to our medicine.

Hi Everyone,

A reminder of Thursday’s CSMCC Alert Meeting. This will include info on a few different initiatives developing in the city and county that you need to be aware of. This meeting should include EVERYONE. That means patients, their families, medical marijuana business owners, vendors (grow stores, landlords, security vendors, merchant services, lawyers, accountants, banks, graphic designers, publications, etc.) and everyone else is directly and indirectly associated with our fight.

IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT WE DEFEAT THIS BALLOT INITIATIVE IN NOVEMBER OR THE CITY CENTERS WILL BE BATTLING IT IN APRIL.

It’s really that simple. The entire city will be voting and if this succeeds, it is guaranteed to be on the April city ballot. Beating this ballot is vital to the survival of safe patient access in Colorado Springs and to so many of you, YOUR SURVIVAL INSIDE COLORADO SPRINGS.

Campaign Planning/Legal Options – As we move forward toward November, we want to be sure you remain informed on what is happening and, more importantly, how you can be involved. There are legal initiatives that, although we can’t give you specifics, we will speak too and get you details on the legal defense fund that will assist in paying for that portion of the battle.

We will also give details on what is happening from the campaign front. There is already heavy money backing our opposition and we need to combat that with an aggressive campaign that makes an impact. Dozens of you have contacted us willing to assist in the battle so we’ll give you details on how you can support. We will need heavy donations to the campaign fund as well as an army of volunteers to get our message out to the masses. We have reserved this larger venue so we can get as many people as possible out to learn about how to be involved.

Meeting logistics

Date: Thursday, September 9th, 2010
Time: 7:00pm – doors open
7:30pm – meeting begins
Location: The Thirsty Parrot
32 S Tejon St · Colorado Springs, CO, 80903

City planning is also working next week on the land use regulations for the city of Colorado Springs. Our friends at CONO have proposed:

” In general, CONO supports the proposed ordinance, with the following exceptions:
· CONO recommends a 1000 foot distance between medical marijuana facilities and schools, residential child care facilities and alcohol and drug addiction treatment facilities. The 1000 foot standard used with regard to adult-oriented businesses is appropriate for the medical marijuana industry as well.
· For medical marijuana facilities located in business zones adjacent to residential areas, CONO recommends that such facilities should be at least 500 feet from the closest residence.“
They had a few other recommendations but you see where this is headed. They will be at the planning commission meeting and the above is what they will be preaching. This puts nearly all businesses out of business based on the residential factor. All of downtown is gone due to residential lofts; all of Colorado Ave is closed down; Fillmore Street is pretty much gone. This effects so many of us and I can’t state it enough, BE AT THE MEETING ON THURSDAY!!!!

Thanks,
T-

Thank You,
pp69

For those who aren't aware; Colorado Springs is a town FILLED with crazy. Its right next to South Park and is home to a handful of some of the most recognized Mega-Churches in the nation. Some of you may recall Ted Haggard who led one of these establishments until he got caught snorting coke off a male hooker's dick.

Also, similar regulations have already been passed for Denver and the surrounding area but I haven't noticed at all. Every 1000 feet there is another dispensary.

You don't know what your talking about.

1. CSprings is no where near south park
2. They have two big religious orgs. New Life church (used to be run by haggard) and Focus on the family (nothing to do with haggard)

I personally am getting tired of all the shitty stores here in town. I'm all for removing the worst of them. I have seen some places that won't take anything but cash. Of course I don't deal with any of these places. While I have my favorite store (pm for name) I prefer to just grow my own... it tastes better, and I know what's in it.
