Hoping to preserve its marijuana law under the next president, Colorado is planning a slate of legislation designed to crack down on pot that is grown legally but then sold on the black market.
The goal is to cut down on complaints that Colorado’s liberal allowances for growing pot without a license has created a thriving network of illegal growers. Colorado allows medical pot patients to grow up to 99 plants, far beyond other marijuana states, and it also allows recreational users to group their allotted six plants into massive co-ops, entire greenhouses of pot that aren’t tracked or taxed.
Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper says the state’s generous pot allowances make it almost impossible for cops to tell legitimate growers from black-market fronts, and he is calling for a several new laws to crack down. Proposals include a ban on group recreational pot grows and new paperwork requirements for people who grow medical pot.
With uncertainty looming about how the next president will approach marijuana, Colorado regulators say it’s time to ramp up efforts to crush the black market and show the feds that Colorado isn’t letting weed seep into other states.

I read about this too this a.m. one point i didn't know is can med patients still get a 99 plant count? that seems a bit excessive.

let's see what Mr Sessions does on Jan 21st with regard to enforcing federal laws. i'm gonna stock up on seeds for Xmas/New years for sure!

Hell ya man same here I'm stocking up on seeds right now, hard telling how everything will go. Hopefully not much changes.. I think it's all about the dispensaries trying to wipe out competition lol.

i have noticed a few dispensaries showing up for sale on Craigslist since the election.

if it were me, i believe i'd take the money and run. fly under the radar and see how this plays out. big money is getting into the game anyway and the little guy's time is about up anyway.

i've got to set up a bitcoin acct so i can make some seed buys overseas.

That's crazy! That's probably smart on their part really though. It's hard telling how everything will play out. I just hope Monsanto and them don't start getting into GMO cannabis seeds.

You prefer getting seeds online? Bitcoin the best way to go? I've thought about it a lot, but never have.. I've always bought seeds locally from place like the clinic, 303, rare dankness, etc.
But in all reality that's where allot of dispensaries get their genetics, right? (Online)

As far as big money getting into the game - I've read articles about that, but in all honestly I think trump being elected could keep a lot of the real big players out for at least the next 4 years. Seems like most of them don't want to get directly involved until federal legalization. What do you think?

yeah, i've had good luck with seeds online. nirvana was where i bought all my stuff from when i first got started. they have a lot of feminized stuff and they took credit cards back then. no cc's anymore hence the bitcoin acct. gorilla is the same, no cc's.

locally, i'm not even sure if the 2 dispensos in manitou even sell seeds? i've used seedsherenow, the dank team and great lakes genetics.

i only do fem stuff so i'm kinda limited on who has what kinda deal.

owning a disp would scare me for sure. hell, even a grow store could be scary.. think about it, you got millions tied up in it and if it's what you rely on to make a living, the new AG could shut you down with one swipe of the pen. then you get raided, all your shit gone, possibly jail time etc. too much risk for my liking.

Damnn that sucks they don't take cc anymore. Yea I kind of doubt it.. none do around where I'm at, I always have to drive to Denver or springs for local beans. For sure man I am right there with you!! Hope everything plays out well, but it is hard telling. I'm just gonna pull a chair sit back and watch.. staying wayy under plant count this year in case of worse case scenario. Will be interesting to watch it all play out
