Pure Par T5 update. This is week 6. Here is my Journal link https://www.rollitup.org/Journal/doomhammer69.542611/ I am very happy with my lights, every thing is so freaking healthy looking, I have kept the light anywhere from 3 - 8 inch avg away from the canopy, A hour and a half from lights out I pull the lights up about 2 feet. every thing has been topped and LST I did some defoliation, the inner plant is now just booming the LST is a great way to go for me I am very pleased, trying to figure out how to attach my videos I had to upload to YouTube, now I can post vids, these are from my little camera so the times are short.

Quick question for my t5 users. What techniques do you use specifically for growing under T5's? Do you always lollypop, do you super crop to stunt vertical growth? Do you top all your plants or leave them be?

Some times I top, But I always LST. I don't lollipop to the extent of what I have seen others do , but I keep the suckers off. I try and open my canopy to let the light in. Works well for me. one other thing I do instead off pulling off main fan leaves.. is tuck them down.. no stress lets light in.

I top at least once if not twice and lst. Keep them short and bushy. Trim off all lower growth. Flip to 12/12 at abojt 8 to 12 inchs. Side lighting helps a lot.

Topping and training is a must to keep plants short and bushy. T5 is great but does not have good depth penatration. Scrog would work well also. Short veg time and low stretch plants like indica strains.

Flowered with t5 for a long time did 5 full grows with them here are a few links to my grows, 5th grow was medi bud and i dont think i had a thread for it. Once you get about 12 -18 inches from the bulbs efficiency goes way down, shorter plants with an even canopy and lots of side lighting worked well for me to increase yeilds over growing large bushes. Its pretty known knowledge that floro lighting does not have the penitation or coverage hid has but as you can see in my threads i liked it and did well with it and learned a lot.

Good on you !!! No, they do not compare to HID with regard to yields but if ya use aquarium bulbs you can get better penetration. I keep my plants at 3 feet tall (mostly) and bulbs 2 feet off the canopy, my lower buds (4 feet away) do just fine. But I don't grow for yields I grow for one hit wonders and bein able to dial the spectrum by usin different bulbs goes a long way toward better quality

They look great man. As far as I'm concerned I'd put them right under that 4 bulb. I have a 6 bulb t5 for veg and a 8 bulb for flower. Both have toggles for switching different light combos off and on, so for the first couple weeks I run the 6 bulb with only 4 bulbs on. As for height, When i first started out with t5's everyone said to put them as close as you can due to the low heat levels. I have found that keeping them that close causes heat stress and low air circulation causing fox-tails on most buds. After much trail and error I have found 5 inches from top canopy to be the ideal height. Good luck and keep the pics coming. Couple of mine below.
Nice grow wat nutrients did u use looks crystallized the buds ?
