^^^^ very nice.
Well im out, switching clubs and ordered a 600w hps. T5 will still be in my grows as clone seedling and veg lighting. Flowering duties will now be taken over by the 600w.
Thats my plan down the road. Ill switch to aero, use my T5s for.cloning and veg, then a 600w hps for flower. Till then its T5. Mine is doing an awesome job right now, too.

Yeah mine was cheap and i had great results. It blew other grow friends of mine away when i told them i used t5. Its official running under 600w hps now. Girls where getting frosty under the t5s though. I hope to hqve a good harvest..

Mine (2' four bulb) was about 90 bucks, i bought two of them planning to do a 2 level cabinet but did not have the space, so now i have 1 in the closet collecting dust. I'm on my first grow and have been surprised at the ammount of trichomes and that they started showing up so early. Im hoping that they just keep multiplying!

Add that second light if you can if not get a bunch of single bulb t5 lights and add them all over. They help a bunch trust me. I have a 8 bulb 4ft light. My old closet setup was the 8 buld over the plants, a 4 bulb 2 ft on the closet door, 2x 2ft single bulbs on the end walls, a 2 bulb t8 shop light on the back wall along with a single 3ft bulb. I pulled 2 oz per plant in a 1.5'x4'x5' area off 4 plants veged for 3 weeks and topped twice with those lights. Half lb.

My space won't allow for another T5 unless i made them into an A frame, which could be possible, but i have some supplemental CFL lighting (six 23w) that does a nice job so far.

Im trying to think of a good way to add it later on, but keeping it relatively simple for now.

My space is 2'x3' and can be seen in some photos in my journal on page 2. Week 4 of 12/12 starts tomorrow.

Ah ok the cfls will do just as well. Do what you can to get a hps. I am loving the coverage and my temos are actually lower now since the venting goes directly over the light i the vented hood.

Once i get a new house ill go to HPS. perhaps a small hps would work in my space, but for now im going to stick with what i have and get some experience under my belt. If i decide to stop doing this i can always use the T5s for garage lighting. Haha

Im thinking about using some for my fish tank. I have so many bulbs many new unused. I have live plants and t hey could use better lighting than the 2 t8 bulbs.

They look great man. As far as I'm concerned I'd put them right under that 4 bulb. I have a 6 bulb t5 for veg and a 8 bulb for flower. Both have toggles for switching different light combos off and on, so for the first couple weeks I run the 6 bulb with only 4 bulbs on. As for height, When i first started out with t5's everyone said to put them as close as you can due to the low heat levels. I have found that keeping them that close causes heat stress and low air circulation causing fox-tails on most buds. After much trail and error I have found 5 inches from top canopy to be the ideal height. Good luck and keep the pics coming. Couple of mine below.
Thanks for the t-5 link. I bought two 4 lamps for $88. and a pack of bulbs for $65. They stung me on shipping but I have been all over my local area and couldn't find those prices. Anyway I'm going to break the t-12 habit. I hope they come already wired to plug in but if not.. Still couldn't beat the price. :bigjoint:

A little back ground, I have been using 8 4ft T5's at 6400k for my veg; and 4 3000k for my flower. I have in my opinion done very well ( Not monsters by any-means ) but as a connoisseur of sorts over the last 35 years I am very pleased. Well today I took a leap for 80 bucs and bought 8 pure Par Veg and 4 pure bloom. The video from the site shows pure veg in the range of of every spectrum and the Pure bloom is deep red and yellow and some blue. Any way I am in no way trying to sell any one but I cant find any real case studies... So here I am. for 80 bucs I will give it a shot. I did hear from another guy on another site who is raving about his buds. after reading more of this link, I may mix some of my 6500k with my pure par. The pictures below are from my very first grow 3 years ago.. be gentle :). since I have grown 3 more harvest.. photos are gone. I have done a couple re-installs of my OS. lucky I had these on my jump drive. Any way these were all grown on 8 4' T5'S AT 6500K VEG at flower I put in 4 3000k. all the grows looked good, even got better with each grow.. Now I am hoping I didn't screw up by ordering these new bulbs. ah what the hell its for me I don't sell. I just started a journal. Since I have not been able to find any actually studies on these bulbs I will make on e my self. If you would like to follow this is the link.https://www.rollitup.org/Journal/doomhammer69.542611/

I think these bulbs like many aquarium plant growth bulbs are intended to be used with cool white (6500K) bulbs which would provide full spectrum coverage.when used in conjunction with cool white bulbs these "purple bulbs" show a little better performance in flowering than the conventional 6500K/3000K flowering mix.the improvement is very small and the par bulbs are much more expensive
They are less than 2 US dollars difference at HTG supply, I am running a 8 bulb t5 lamp I am going to mix 4 in with my 6500k and see how it goes. started a journal. I have not been able to find any one with recorder evidence one way or the other as to the performance of the Pure par veg AND pure par bloom.

Well, i had cut off the larger fan leaves already. Still not too bad though!

This is my first grow, I've harvested 1 of my two plants. I'm pretty happy so far with the results.

I get that, I have grown some Afgan that was very leafy, not just the fan and smaller fan leaves. here is a pic of one, not the best photo to show.

Oh Damn, I get it. Haha.

Now that one of my plants is out of the flowering room, the other has spread its canopy add bulked up considerably. Looking forward to harvesting that one this weekend.

Took this before it spread out and bulked up a bit more, still shows the leaf per bud on this second plant.

Doomhammer, I am getting ready to start flowering with 16 4' t5's, and I am thinking of using a combination of 4 6500k, 4 3000k, 4 pure par, and 4 pure bloom...what is your take on the pure par and pure bloom so far? How do the plants look and could you describe the color of the light emitted from these bulbs? Also, what kind of yield do you get generally from your 8 t5's under near-optimal conditions?

Here is my link to my; Journal. So far my veg is looking beautiful, I will not be using any pure par bloom or 3000k until flower, so fare its just 8 pure par veg and 4 6500k, I have 2 10000k called a finisher, I might those into the flower also https://www.rollitup.org/Journal/doomhammer69.542611/
