Closet help

hi all. I have sealed off an area that is 2'x5'1/2' X 10' high. I framed it insulated it sealed it and rocked it. It has a small door that is weather proofed. It is sealed fairly tight from the rest of my house. My thought is it that it is above my garage so I was going to cut a 4"x14" vent into the floor for and intake with a filter. Then use a 4" fan cut in my ceiling to draw out the air and vent it outside through a carbon filter. The fan I was looking at was 190 Cfm. The room is about 100 ft/3.
My concerns
190 Cfm enough to clear smell from room
The garage temp is average 40 60 degrees. Is this to cold to draw air since I'm only using CFL lamps. (I might need a heater)
Should I run the fan on a variable speed switch to always draw air when it gets smelly or a t stat to regulate the temp if it gets to high?
Thank you.

Air circulation, if you have heat problems should exchange the air in the room no more than 3-5 times per minute.

If you don't have heat problems, you are looking at about once every 3-5 min to keep co2 levels comfortable for the plants.

Your 190 cfm fan, without any extras can exchange it 2x per min, minus a bit for the filter and piping, so maybe 1.5 times per minute which is a fair amount.

40-60 degrees is a bit cold to be pulling in air at. You could try it stock, but to get better growth (I think growth grinds to a halt at 50 ish) you may want to dial your fan back to once every 3-5 min or look at getting air from elsewhere. Maybe intake from just the surrounding room instead of the garage. And make sure to have a small fan circulating in the grow room!

Thanks for the help. I thought about taking air from inside my room instead of garage but I worried about smell. I guess if I always had fan going I would have negative pressure. I just don't want scent to escape that area. I might put a heater on a thermostat in there and use the garage I will have to see when I get the hole cut in what the temp. Is. Thanks a ton.

I'm not sure if your situation would allow it or if you're capable, but have you considered building in a false ceiling at say 6 or 7 feet high. That would lower the sq. ft. of the room and make the turnover rate a little faster for your 190 fan.

Also, the fluctuating temperatures create a problem. You can control interior temps a lot easier and that gives you a more reliable grow environment.

If it is negative pressure and you have an air tight intake, you shouldn't have any scent leaks.

Cool. I can do take in from the other room. As long as no scent comes out with the fan always on while there is negative pressure. . I might have to have a spare fan also. I could not get stuck with the intake coming from my house and have a fan go bad allowing the smell into my house. Privacy is my first priority.

I decided to cut the vent in the floor. I installed a radiant wall heater as well as a humidifier and fan. Right now I am solid 75degrees and 50%humidity. Now that I have that under control I have a question on my plant. It is an auto flower and I started the seed in s small cork and bark seed starting pot. The plant is 1 week old. Do you think I may stunted its growth in the root yet. I bought 5 gallon smart pots. I am transplanting tonight. The seedlings are approx. 1 1/2" high and wide. The pot is about 6" deep. Do you feel as it is an auto flower I may have already messed up?
