Close call moments

I'd like to hear stories of moments where an error or catastrophe occurred that you stopped before the crop was destroyed.

Yesterday checked pH, was 6.8 but I had changed 15 gal from res so I adjusted thinking it was okay since I made a water change, Today it was still high. After some adjusting it didn't seem right, I tried the pH meter with other water and the numbers where not consistent.

It failed repeatability, I had to test with a chemical test to find out water was maxed at 4 the chart colors didn't go further. Just dumped allot of res added back old nute water and it's okay. I can sleep tonight now but dang, 3 weeks from harvest... Plants seem fine for now ill retest water tonight and morning.

Finding that I had about a centimeter of water left in my bucket.

I finally had gotten dwc down and plants were growing vigorous and I got lazy and didn't check them for a few days.

my first grow I got paranoid and threw my dwc plant in the dumpster... where they sat for an entire hot summers day. That night I felt bad and went dumpster diving to get my plant... took clones and flowered them out.

Being paranoid is safer then carelessness. In the end it's just a plant. Unless a plant is your greatest accomplishment there's no need to really express the achievement to anyone.

Checking your plant and then having a farmer putting in farming stakes about 20 meter's away from you. Now that gets your heart racing lol Cant believe he didn't even see me or the plant.

Oh man just before bed i closed the basement door and heard water running. Seemed odd cause we werent doing laundry......

Bolted downstairs to see 2"of water covering the floor, the factory crimp of my hose blew off and water was pouring out full blast.

Hit the shut off valve and cleaned for 2 hours with the shop vac.

Would have been a disaster if i hadn't been home, or been sleeping.

I still shut the valve off everytime now, even though it's a new crimp. NO TRUST! ;)

One time a cop came to my house looking for someone I didn't know. Me and cop was standing 15 ft from my plants....scared nervous...didn't see it though it was well hidden in a wood pile

That's a perfect example of why I will never depend on a meter again, matter of fact i don't even own one anymore. I use just the drops test and truthfully I almost never have to adjust it. I have found a combination of nutes that works well and keeps the PH in range.

Actually your PH should wander up and down a bit. i don't think there is a perfect number but needs to stay in range
