clonex question

I use clonex gel all the time and have always been satisfied with the way it works.recently i purchased a jar and Ive only used it one time and now its totally liquefied. has anyone else had this problem and will it still work? Thanks DP

dunno but if it matters I have put tops in soil with flowering plants and it roots and flower with nothing, so i just use some cheap shit called root boost i think 3 bucks

I don't use any cloning gel anymore.

However with the clonex you should pour some out to use and discard the unused amount.

Many people dip their clones into the jar of clonex and this generally causes the liquid to become thinner.

I've noticed when it's liquidy that I don't get good results. I now do what he said ^^^^^^

i use roottech cloning gel in my aeroponics cloner, no shaving or splitting the stem ive been seeing white nodes within 2-3 days sometimes some nice little roots popping out within a few days. and i just use straight tap water in my cloner no chemicals. no phing needed for my cloner. its super simple.

I had a bad time with the bottles of clonex, for the last fer years now I just buy the one time uses packets.

clonex $18 vs.powder root hormone from Walmart $3. My experience powder works faster to create roots then gel. I recently started using both because I had some clonex someone gave me. 1st I use the powder, then after 7 days or so I inject the clonex gel down into the cube between the stem... I get roots faster this way in less then 2 wks. I feel like after a week I have washed all the pwdr/clonex off by watering, thats why I use the gel ontop of it. I get faster,great results. Make sure you have a heat mat under it also, with a timer on it.

Just wanted to say that without rooting hormone my average is 9 days for clones to root.

I use clear little desert pots for cloning that have lids. Almost like individual propogators.

I add about 1-1.5" of coco to the bottom of the pots.

Snip my clone from my donor plant.

Cut a 45 angle and slice it up the middle.

Plant into the coco.

Open lid once a day to replenish air.

During this time I have to resaturate the coco once.

Thanks for the comments. I always poor the clonex into a shot glass and use out of that so I don't contaminate the jar. I kept it in the basement in a cabinet close to the floor it stays cool down thereso I dont know why it melted.

I hope thats not the case.

I've heard there is also an expiration date on it also. Just because you might have gotten it recently, doesn't mean it wasn't siting around for awhile at undesirable temps.

Yup. I'd pour mine into a shot glass.

And my clones was always liquid. Never had an issue.

love clonex, I use the gel and the liquid solution. One bottle of each lasts me quite a while ( I don't use much). My system is simple and works very well for me.
cut them slanted,and tips,I use a saucer for the small bit of clonex. then I let them sit a few minutes, before putting them in the cloner.


homeade cloner,cheap. Mine have been in 3 days and have itty nodes forming. I usually have roots in a week if I check, which I don't. I just let them stay in it
until I'm ready to veg them out. I never lose a clone, from this system. The only clones I have lost have been due to a feline..
I too tried a root powder awhile back, very cheap and it was OK, but I much prefer what I use now. My last bottle of clonex did get a little thin near the end of it.
I didn't notice it working less however. I just bought a new bottle so I don't run out.

I would say that it was not stored properly. The store I work at keeps clonex gel in the front glass case, and with our A/C not working I've seen this happen to a few of the older bottles....

Not to get off the subject with you Indica, but have used your Photosynthesis Plus sample from microbe life yet? If not start now, because it is a game changer.

yep, used it on my last grow, still getting used to the line, I got the starter kit you see in the picture for free when i made a hydro order awhile back. From what I've seen it gave my plants
a nice boost. I didn't add it very aggressively though.
will keep it brief to not Hijack the thread.

You get roots, you get plants.. life is good.
I am sure mine would root without anything, but I personally love making my girls feel pampered, I got the first packet of clonex years ago as a freebie,
and it's purple.. love purple. What other reason do I need?

I don't use them either. Just 1/4 strength of my base and GH Rapid Start when the roots start to show.

I'm just following the directions. It was the only thing i added to my last grow, and it really brought out the smell and flavor of my Moby Dick. I also think it makes my garden wreak(like weed) more too, but it could be in my head.
