Clones yellowing?

Ive got this homemade bubble cloner and a couple clones have gone yellow, and i dont know why.

All cuttings went into aloe infused water right after cutting. Ive used aloe since i started taking clones a year ago and its worked really good so far.

They are in the same conditions as all the other clones and only these two did this. Sucks because one is the top and i planned to make that into a new mother

These are gorilla glue clones.

Bout 3.5 gallons of water w some aspirin disolved in.
18/6 light cycle

Its getting indirect light from a galaxy hydro 300 i use just for mothers and veg now.

Also, its been 10 days and no sign of roots on any of them yet, but i dont have the water heated.

That may be a sign that their eating which is a good sign. They may be trying to root.

They could still root even if yellow but be sure to give them a dose of nutrients as soon as they do. Clones can look worse before they get better. In my experience the clones that stay green tend to root faster; probly has something to do with their overall health.

always dress for the occassion

always use the best cuts you can get

I can understand the use of salic. acid in the stew

but as for aloe vera its only a surfactant ...whats else..??

heated water will stimulate the cells activity just as the bacteria will too

wait and see

cheers/

good point, it doesnt have much blue so i threw a 4100k cfl in there above the clones.

I planned to have an HLG 65 in there by now, but work came to an unexpected screeching halt a few weeks back. Its tough times in Illinois right now, nobody has any money

Those cuttings look pretty big. You usually want to just leave one or two larger leaves, along with the new growth leaves. The larger leaves should have their fans trimmed in half so the clones don't waste energy trying to support those big leaves.

Don't heat the water, it's not needed. Plus, it can cause unwanted microbe growth in the water.

Change out your water every few days. You don't need to add any additives or nutes yet.

Make sure your lights aren't too bright. A single daylight (6500k) CFL or florescent tube 12" high, for your sized tote, is all you need. If you have too much light, the clones will use it to try and grow instead of root, which isn't what you want.

Its in my veg room, but getting indirect light from the 300, and ihave a 65w 4100k cfl about 20" above it....this my 2nd yr growing/cloning.

Had anyone used those round tube cfls for clones? I thought about making a small clone chamber with one of those.

It's a shame a concentrated group of morons in Chicago are screwing over the rest of the state. I feel for you.

Yep, many times. CFLs are great for cloning, early veg, and supplimental lighting! They do create a little heat, much more in the base where the mini ballast is, so you'll want to have a little circulation and ventilation.

125w cfl does the job for me......
I wouldn't use anything that strong for rooting clones though. That'd work great for early veg, but I wouldn't have anything more than a single 23-watt daylight CFL, or a short tube. I'm usually around 2000lm when I clone.

Yea that's for rooted clones in stage 2......he asked if anyone had experience with quote :curvy cfls........I use a smaller 20w version of the 125 for stage 1 clones (new cuts).......

As of today none of the GG have rooted yet, but they are all still alive.

The one sour diesel i accidentally broke off of another planton same day i took clones, and stuck in the cloner just for the heck of it, already has a 2-inch root.

I think the GG are close tho, i see white bumps on quite a few of the stems but nothing i would call a root.

On another note, i harvested my pineapple chunk last night.

My Gorilla Cookies take FOREVER to root! I'm talking longer than three weeks! Meanwhile, my Girl Scout Crack takes two weeks, and my White Widows spray roots at the very smell of a cloner! WW is the most agressive strain I've ever rooted and cloned!

My point is that it may be the Gorilla genotype or phenotype that takes forever to root. I'd leave them in there till they root or die. As long as there's green, she's either still trying to root, or may be stuck trying to grow, if the lights are too intense.
