All comments, suggestions, and shit talking welcome...MERICA!

Bought the Humboldt Seed Organization OG Kush Fem seeds form Seedsman.com and got the Chocolate Mint fem and the Pineapple Chunk fem as freebies. Started 3 OG Kush and one of each of the others. If you've grown these and have tips, I'd love to hear them.

Been growing in DWC buckets for a while, but wanted try out a coco flood and drain setup. Hopefully we will see a successful fumble through my first flood and drain setup and great results from these plants.

Finally used these old Stella glasses for something other than dust collection.

The set up is:
600 watt metal halide for veg, 600 watt has for flower
4x4 tent
6" fan, 6x18 can filter, duct attached to one end of the light pulling air from the tent and pushing through the filter, fresh air through duct running from bottom of tent about 5' with a diy dust filter
two 6" fans to move air in the tent
humidifier to boost humidity to 60% in veg, humidity generally very low here, especially as we head into winter
about 78 degree during lights on and 70 when lights are off

Started the seeds in distilled water bath for about two days, maybe three, short term memory is a bitch! They were slow starters in my opinion, all popped just fine, but only small tails in three days.

They the went into Royal Gold Tupar in beer cups and fed them GH trio, CalMag, Hydroguard, and Mammoth P at about 200ppm maybe once per day of the first week. Watered based on weight of the cup, at first the plants needed little water each day, but as they rooted and started growing, more frequent watering seemed to boost the growth rates.

Photo from day 18 from seed, sharing the tent with some monster cropped Jedi OG clones. No automation yet.

Day 22 from seed update...automation

Decided to use a weird DWC top feed system I made a while ago with the beer cups. Filled the bucket with 2.5 gallons of about 400 ppm solution, small pump on timer top fed using 2 gallon per hour droppers for 4 minutes 3 times per day. Bucket was aerated with a stone and air pump. Worked great in my opinion, but I had the solution wrong and the pineapple chunk was a little unhappy.

Day 32 update

Potted up and topped, 1 gallon container, back to no automation, booooo

Water three times per day, drain to waste, about 1 cup per plant per feeding, and I'm inconsistent. Some days its three times, but when I got the flu last week it was once or twice per day. Great growth regardless of my sporadic watering, love this media so far. Feeding about 500 ppm including GH trio, floralicious plus, calmag, floranecter, hydroguard, and mammoth P

Better photos from now on, promise

Day 41
Nice growth, topped again, the Pineapple Chunk is growing super fast with long spacing between nodes. Not what I'm looking for this round. Roots are poking through the bottom drainage holes of the #1 pots, time for a transplant.

Day 45
Very nice growth, finally set up the flood and drain system, excited to see results and dial everything in. Transplanted to #3 pots, their final resting place through flower, hope they are large enough. Super cropping and topping weekly at this point, hope to fill the tent this round. Feeding about 550ppm at this point, all leaves look happy and healthy. The last picture is the day after super cropping, everything bounced back nicely.

Day 57 from seed...
Got the net in place and I'm going to attempt a real scrog this time. Shit canned the Barney's Farm Pineapple Chunk, it was not growing with the program and after reading lots of posts about disappointing results, I decided to replace it with a few Jedi OG babies. Should be interesting to see how this all finishes out in the same space. The Jedi will stretch like crazy and there won't be much space in the trellis to handle it. Maybe I can let it go vertical and keep the rest low? PPM is about 650, we'll see how the babies handle the major change in lights and notes in their new home.

I grew the Chocolate Mint Og for a couple of rounds before losing it due to power failure. For me the yields weren't great but the flavor and potency were great, especially after a bit of cure. I'm very interested in your results. I only popped a single seed which wasn't really a fair evaluation of the strain.

Day 4 Flower

650 PPM, 78-80F lights on 70F lights off, 40-50RH. Res temp about 72F. Three small fans in the tent, none of them blow directly on the plants.

Day 30 Flower

The stretch is over, and the Jedi won the race to the top. I tried to weave the OG Kush and Chocolate Mint OG into he trellis net, and it worked pretty well. Canopy is decent other than the Jedi, oh well! Things are looking really good, happy with the progression, the funk and the frost are building nicely!

Finally time to finish this journal with some final pics....last run in the basement

The Chocolate Mint OG finished very quickly around 60 days, yielded super tasty, spicy dank og (no fruit), ROCK hard golf ball size tops, so hard you could snap them in half and hear the snap after dry. The plant self seeded due to my ignorance to the art of searching out and pulling pollen flowers before they pop. I'm currently growing some of those seeds and they look and smell great.

The OG Kush was a lower yielder but also an excellent fruity sweet OG taste, no seeds, finished about a week after the Choc Mint.

Jedi was not as impressive as past rounds, most likely due to the rushed veg and small pot through flower. Still kicked out some excellent gassy OG lime buds with a smoke that brings EVERYONE to the couch for a rest.

Very nice! I grew the Chocolate Mint 2 years ago. Very stoney, with a musky dank smell that's unique. No mint in mine, and if there was chocolate, it was hidden behind the musk. Probably won't grow it again, but I did enjoy it. Grew like a champ and had no problems throughout. Cool to see another grow of it though, Good job!
