Chiller Just Went, Need a Fix

My EcoPlus chiller decided to quit working on me last night. Display turns on and reads temp but won't turn on the fan or pump. For those of your familiar with Ecoplus chillers (old model by the way) the light on display flashes green and I can hear a click when it's telling the pump and fan to turn on but nothing is happening. I pulled the case and cleaned off the wires/connectors but still nothing, no fuse as well?.... Does anyone have any experience fixing or having a chiller fixed? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

good luck finding parts. especially when you don't know which one(s) are broke. did it come with an electrical schematic? trace thru all the circuits until you find the faults(s)

There's only so many components that it could be - it's knowing which one. I think that you'll need need to contact the manufacturer and request some troubleshooting help. Hopefully they can point you to the right part. It's likely just a sensor of controller.

F a chiller. just dump bennies in your water and you're fine

I just tried to buy one used here as they are like $750 for a 1/10 hp one, used they are $350-$450. I decided to build one instead, all in was less than $350 and a day to build (I'm a refridge mechanic so have the equipment) a .5hp. Not pictured but that includes a digital Ranco control.

Hydroguard to protect the roots for now. You could do a butt load of frozen 2 liter soda bottles, but that is sooooooooooooooo annoying.
Budley Doright has it going on. I did the same thing with a dehumidifier before I ended up buying my chiller. Chillers are overpriced dehumidifiers.

Hydroguard did help me as well and actually saved a near dead grow. Unfortunately we can't buy it in Canada any more so I said fuck it and finally built a mechanical chiller. I also use a passive chiller when temps are cooler with 200' of glycol filled copper under ground.

OP hasn't been here for a while, guess it's fixed.

I assume you are using it for a container. Scrape the chiller, which will actually only provide oxygenated water by chilling it, for air pumps. Root rot is caused by hot, dead water, and with an air stone, that will not be an issue. Just get a cheap air pump and stone, and that will work to keep your roots healthy. Seriously, just aerate the shit out of your water, you don't need a chiller

Actually I disagree. Can you have a successful grow? Yes sure you can and I have done it for years but by providing chilled water I can be guaranteed a higher DO content. Using a chiller does allow for max DO which provides me with way better growth and more stability, besides I hate air stones lol. I've seen DWC grows that had massive amounts of air added and still had issues due to temps, the centre of the root ball was suffering. Again I grew for years without a chiller and while it worked ok, it's nothing compared to keeping the root zone at a constant 66

Monterey Complete Disease Control Brand Biofungicide / Bactericide
It has the exact same stuff in it.

FYI: you should mention if using CO2, put the airpump outside.
Also, IDK about you but I stopped using air pumps, waste of energy, poor oxygen saturation, raised PH. It's best to cycle water so that you have a waterfall effect. More saturation. This information comes from scholarly articles I have read.
