nice. im going to build another 4-600w worth in 5-6 weeks when we get back from vacation. will have an even 2000 for flower.. that current setup i just checked today is actually 9'x4' with 1200w the other area will be 7.5'x 44" with 800w.. should be sitting pretty in the ppfd wheelhouse for a good yield. gotta brush up on the newest info and deals first over in the LED section.. new bin out or coming out of the 3590's with 1000 more lumens than current top bin..i also seem to remember a newsletter a while back saying prices would drop around april so thatd be super.
its crazy there isn't more publicity around these COB lights. It seems to me like a big portion of the commercial LED market has been populated with those MARS style Lights that it could easily deter a less educated grower (Majority) and that shit just snowballed.

have a few clones left over that i decided not to run indoor, only so much room, but still keeping alive. my landlord just got back today from a 1 month 12000+ mile road trip.. has a (or more than one) several ton pile(s) of decade old manure that gets turned every year(or multiple times a year) he'll give me any amount of for freeee. thats whats up! gotta ask him and make sure theres no dewormer in it...sounds like a score though for first year outdoor experimentation ... on top of that they farm hay...chances are they do alfalfa soooo theres a source of super cheap and or free wholesale alfalfa meal....another family with a ton of land in my area has a new business catering to the microbrew beer market doing malted barley seed.. as it happens theres a brewfest here this weekend and im gonna go talk to em about expanding their product to the agricultural market... and maybe get myself some free barley in the process

veg tent pretty crowded as usual..into May now and its still too cold to put veggies outside, goddamn maine! a bunch of these are going to get flipped to flower in ~4 days so that will clear up some room, at least for a little while. 7/7 germination on seeds. 4 are already above ground, 3/4 of the barefoot doctor and 1/3 of the buddhas hand.. should all be up by tomorrow. 2nd pic is barefoot doctor #3

i also had no experience with anything electrical either. spent a few weeks reading up over in the LED section and deciding what build i wanted. its really a pretty simple process once you know whats going on. though i certainly recommend putting in the due diligence before diving in, the performance is well worth it.
when i finally got all my stuff i had a buddy whos an electrician come over to help put the first one (200w panel) together. he was pretty well shitfaced, couldnt grasp the concept of connecting the drivers negative to the COB's negative connection rather than positive, asked no less than 10 times "so this little yellow thing is the light?" , hand was wobbling all over the place so i had to take the soldering iron away from him before he melted a hole through one of my COB's.

oh yes..amazing structure on this FB cut. mad bud sites and great support..stems were pretty stubborn going into the net. i've got side branches coming off the base of these stalks that are nearly the size of an average finished plant trunk.. i think it'll be a great candidate for first year outdoor trials. are you sure you didnt splice a cunt's hair of redwood into this cross?!

Thanks mate, that gives me some hope! I've got a friend who is an electrician as well, maybe I could get him to connect one up for me....I'll make sure he's not shitfaced though lol.
My main worry is not having a clue where or what to buy....seems like such a big world out there, the LED world!
And mate, those stems are ridiculous!! Top stuff!

my previous method was to top everything.. then i thought to myself something like "what if my plants never had to recover from mutilation and then redistribute their auxins?" the result was faster, more vigorous vegetation, more budsites with less effort come flower, and stronger main stems to support buds in late flower. i'll mention also that there's absolutely no science behind these comments. just my observations.

Definitely sounds plausible mate. I only top and train due to a major lack of height, otherwise I'd let them go onaturale

as close to au naturale is what i like.. to be more clear, i do train, but lately, i dont "top".. "training" though in this instance equals just bending the main stem once, 90º, several nodes past the cotyledons...well past the point i would normally top... then once bent, the auxins redistribute to existing budsites just like topping but without traumatizing your plant by mutilating it. i meaaaan... i've produced the same"ish" looking tops/canopy when cutting my plants,... at their strongest point of growth.........dotdotdot..dotdot...(does this not seem counter productive?) but i had to wait much longer for them to recover after butchering them.. in the past i usually top at the 4th/5th node. sort of like the same concept as "mainlining" i guess...just a little more....mainlined.
like i said no science behind this. just applying what seems to be common sense to me. which could easily be absolutely all wrong!! i've never actually followed a feeding schedule or guideline someone else set out... have been trying to keep the mentality of just feeding my plants what they tell me they need..

Sounds like a good way to do it mate! I bend my main tops if I don't get a chance to top them, the knots in the stems end up massive, the buds end up just as big too!

moved 5 fireballs clones out of the veg tent to flower..which cleared up room for me to decide that im going to pop some beans before i leave for holiday in 4 days... 
just cant help myself. my babysitter can handle some extra seedlings, he'll be compensated appropriately.. all he wanted was some cuts anyways, the gift that keeps on giving! waiting until the postman comes tomorrow...i want some more genstash in the garden but if it doesnt make it in time ill be popping them when i get back.
