Fertilome was my goto brand originally. You find it at greenhouses, nurseries, and farm stores. A nice, reasonably priced, water-soluble, 20-20-20 but the bloom product went hogwild with the Phosphorous. Just like Jack's it also lacks a good cartoon on the label.

I have no idea, buddy. I used miracle grow because I already had it for my rose bushes. I later bought the tomato formula when I first encountered a phosphorous deficiency. I've used the two of them ever since. For 10 bucks I can buy enough of it to last me years...and that counts feeding my roses too.

If we're just talking cheap nutes here then you can't go any cheaper than Miracle-Gro/Scotts/GH/Botanicare/Mon$atan!

I hate that MG puts nutes in their perlite. Can't they leave anything alone? I only know this as I ran out of my bulk perlite that I purchased from a farm store and just wanted a little bit right away and I saw they added nutes. Did not buy. In reality, MG is not that cheap either. Go to any big box store with a gardening center and MG is generally their high end.

My total spent on this grow: 40 dollars. And that's including the seeds. I see people all the time spend 150 bucks for nutrients for one grow and they end up with pretty much the same results I do.
But since they paid out the ass for it, of course it's the best. It's like a guy in a Porsche driving to the store and a guy in his old beat up Ford drives up and meets him there.
They both drove to the store. They both got the same end result. The fact that one guy paid 1000 times more to do it than the other is moot in the end.

Nice analogy, but before I respond...are you saying that you spent $40 for 1 plant that generated 6 zips? The $ number means little unless you include a qty. produced.

I spent 40 dollars to grow 2 plants. I grow 2 at a time for personal use pain relief. (Neck surgeries, knee surgeries and two bouts with cancer resulting in 3 surgeries) I usually net between 4 and 6 ounces from each plant.
The plant I posted is doing very well and will net 6 ounces by it's lonesome. The other is not shabby, but it'll probably wind up around the 3.5 to 4 ounce mark. Picture of it attached.

I also only grow for the medical needs of my wife and I. Sorry to hear about your issues. Would be nice to just smoke for fun again.
A mentioned above my nute costs are about $8 per grow. Add to that my Promix, added myco and added perlite I am still under $30 and that generates 6 flowered plants (21 zips) , 1 or 2 mothers (like your seed costs) and 12 clones. So yeah my Yugo just pulled in behind your Ford with a full trunk of weed.

Been using Hydroponic Research Veg+Bloom and am happy with it. But I've relocated and am not making near the income that I was (I just grow for personal), and am considering switching. This 1 lb pail for $20 (minus shipping) barely lasted a month and a half now that the girls are in flowering (hand-watered coco, so, much waste). I've considered Maxibloom and Jacks, any users care persuade me in either direction?

Have you read my posts here? My 1.5lb pail lasted 2 grows with the jacks...but I only add about 1/2 tsp per gallon every water. I don't think Jack's has too many detractors here. Consistent and proven company.
About to harvest these....

No bro, sorry I haven't. I skimmed the thread and saw some pictures. I've also read quite a bit on the KISS thread (MaxiBloom) and the Jacks thread over at IC, which is why those are my two choices. Thanks for the response though.

I could get 5lb of V+B for 100 bucks, 16lb of Maxibloom for 80 bucks, but for that same hundy, I can get 25 pounds each of Jacks hyrdro 5-12-26 and 15-0-0 calnit, that's the best price hands down (with an additional $50 garnered for shipping, I should clarify).
