Just FYI, if you measure PPM after using those filters it only goes down about 100 ppm...my tap is so bad that that's a 350 after 460ish ppm out the tap

There is no such thing. Filtering something is different than forcing a membrane through water. The filters will clean up your water for sure but there is no replacement for reverse osmosis. Most of those filters are just the first 2 steps in the water pirification process. If you were to cheap out and cut corners make sure you use a filter with KDF-85. Still wont be nearly as good as using a ro machine or getting off the couch and taking a jug down to the water store for $1.50

I don't know how many gallons you guys need for a flush or initial setup, but I can't imagine using a pitcher. What about a spot free carwash filter that fits on a hose, most homes have a utility sink somewhere, with a hose fitting on the faucet....
