cfl's or fluorescent's ?

im planning to grow one plant at a time so i wanted to know which lighting would be best. i know the best types of lighting are high pressure sodiums and metal hallides but im on a budget and im not trying to spend too much. give me some opinions on which you think is better.

CFL's are flourescents! CFL's concentrate thier output into a small area for each "bulb", so you can arrange them into whatever configuration you see fit. Conventional flourescent tubes spread thier output over the entire length of the tube, that may limit your flexibility in arranging them into a "desired" configuration.

How big do you intend to veg this plant out till? What strain, Indica or Sativa? And unless your saying you only intend to spend <$25.00 I would still suggest an HID, either hps or cmhd 100 to 400 watts will still be very affordable maybe even comparable to a T5 Fluoro set up, and will allow you some very decent buds.

Use 2 vitalume 125watt internally ballasted 6400k for veg and 2 2700k for flowering. I think You well like the results and they are cheap to run.

If you are on a strict budget and you are doing one plant, cfl would be your choice. There are some amazing grow journals with cfl grows check them out. Good Luck.

You can have a nice little grow of one plant with CFL's. You can even hang them around your plant at different heights to get a saturation of light throughout. Just be realistic on your yield expectations. It won't produce a bumper crop or anything. Good luck and have fun with it.
