Hello guys! This is my first grow ever that ill be doing in a pc case. Right now my seed is germinated and after the taproot popped out I planted it in my soil and now I'm waiting for it to sprout. I have two 33w 6500k cfls and two 33w 2700k. Right now i have my two 6500k and one 2700k hanging inside the box. I will keep this thread updated through my grow and any tips and help is welcome. The only problem i have is to get my cfls horizontally to the roof as they now are hanging because there is no place to mount them. I am planing on doing a scrog and using the GHE nutrients. I also don't have a proper cannabis soil, just some normal garden soil that i hope is fine!

Very nice! I've. Never seen a homemade version thats awesome! Your going to want to invest in a hydrometer for sure!

Yeah I still need the ph and temp/humidity meter.
Walmart less than $10 works extremely well! I love the fact that it keeps the highs and lows of each so I know the difference between day and night. Something I never considered controlling before using it.

ive used reg potting soil w\bark in it. i never will again tho. i had about ½ bag of root organic, but it didnt fill up the pot all the way, so i got some cheap potting soil that gets sold in front of grocery stores (safeway) 3 for $10 around spring time....well I topped off my pot, and mixed it very well, and granted, YES, it grew, but SLOWLY. The problem with cheap soil is its made with water retention in mind, so ppl can water their flowers, then let them be for weeks, come back and find themstill moist. thats not good with MJ. She needs a good wet dry cycle to grow proper. i ended up having to veg that plant for 12 weeks!! and it wasnt anywhere near wat it shoulda been.
i took a clone and put it in coco, andd no joke, i vegged the plant to the same size it took the one in cheap soil 12wks in just 4wk!!
i will never cheap on soil again.

Yes i will flower in this box and it is possible by scrog. And I know I should get better soil and I was thinking that if I decide to transplant I will buy better soil!

Ah I love watching people start for the first time! For any doubting a grow in a PC case, I took the guts out of an old clothes dryer and grew a good 4oz plant inside! So do it, and happy growing!

Might want to get some Actinovate for any Damping Off, and garden soil is going to be replete with bugs and other nonsense so be prepared with on-hand:

Always always Azamax or Azatrol weekly as start of Integrated Pest Management
Proper Humidity (30% to 65%) and temperature (72-78degF) controls [much harder in a small container]
Cease or Bacillus Subtilis
Botanigard or Bacillus Thuringienensis
Pyrethrins with Piperonyl Butoxide synergist
...and don't overwater.

Grow on!

The box is 18 inches tall but i don't need much height because of scrog
18 inches. did you subtract the height of the growing medium and your bulbs.

the short rider is a low plant and according to my research almost everyone vegs 18 hrs in pc boxes for about 20 days
Definitely not that long of a veg time in a PC box or your going to have some problems. When you switch to flower the plant sometimes doubles in size.

Day 2 from sprout and second pair of leafs already growing:cool:View attachment 3541069
Just so you are aware there is only one set of leaves there, the round ones aren't leaves and the "second" set aren't quite leaves either, when the following set grows that is the first "real" set of leaves! Just a tid bit of info! Happy growing!

No I didn't subtract and yes I know but Ive planned this and chosen a strain that doesn't have much height grow during flowering, and i will also scrog!
