I've got 8 lights in this box n it covers a 2'x3' grow.
Thats a neat setup! So do you have those two wired together, then into a plug to plug into anoutlet? Im using a closet, that doesnt have an outlet, so i have to run an extension cord in. Do you think this will work? If so it will really free up some space for me too! Thanks!!

I know it will. Lol. Yes, they're wired together straight to the cord which I made from an extension cord. It'll work great for you. I'm using it in an old entertainment center that I was going to throw away. It has two areas. One is 2x2x4 n the other is 2x3x4.

I just put it together last night. Was too tired to put it in my area, but hopefully will be doing it later. This should defibitely help with space since i was using the shop clamp lights with those reflectors. But since the plants got taller it got really crammed in there. Ill let you know how it goes soon!

I'm going with T5's. The money I spent getting 700 watts of cfl's, I could've gotten a good set of T5's

may wanna keep in mind you can phase out your cfls, for led bulbs with the diffusers taken off.

really depends on what you wanna spend, i've been doing cfl's for a while. Slowly i've been replacing those with led bulbs like i mentioned before. makes for a nice combination as well....

something like these in your area, if you can find them, this way you can roll out the cfl's toward leds

cfls are slowly becoming some what no existant in some places, or just harder to find.....

if you wanna move up from there

there is a site i'm looking at i found here for led boards and kits

Nice! Thanks for posting the bulb im looking for! So i just take off the plastic housing and it should be all good right? Do you know what light spectrum it is? I was looking for 6500 k like the cfls.
That site that you posted look really interesting also!! The question i have with that is, is that all the light is good for is veg growth? What happenes when you want to switch it over to the flowering phase ?

yep at 5 kelvin a bulbs it will veg just fine, just becareful taking those diffusers off when you do

from the same company, they also make bulbs at 3 kelvin which is good for flowering, just click them on with the 5 kelvin and you would be flowering like crazy.

i'm doing a grow right now with the combination of the cfls and led bulbs, if you wanna come take a look, we are in the main cfl room

What is your thread titled? I got off work today so this evening ill be getting some more bulbs at home depot. Gonna grab abox of the leds and put them on the top of my setup, and use the cfls on the sides and where i need it. I gotta shuffle things around, but its pretty cool to learn all this. I have a small notepad to write things down so i dont forget for the next run.

Hey sorry to bother you so many times. Just a quick question, how did you get the diffusers off those bulbs?

its cool...

sometimes you can just pull off the diffusers but its rare if you can

some people use a pocket knife, score the bottom where the diffuser meets the bubble, i usually do this method, then i take the tip of the blade a push the diffuser till it pops in, remember its plastic....

other methods you can use is a hacksaw, i've even seen a drill in the top upside down, and then a good pair of sissors, just becareful not to hit the leds inside of them......my first time i bought two bulbs, the first one i messed up, the second one i got.....

you can always ck youtube there are videos about it...

above all things just becareful not to damage the led lighting inside...and your hands too....
