CFL light chandelier

Came up with this idea for a cfl grow. 7 way light bulb splitter and some flexible extensions with some cfl bulbs put together to make a grow chandelier lol. What do you think?
Yeah that's not uncommon in some form or another. CFL's do produce good bud, make sure you get a few different spectrums bulbs. Seems to help. Hell, even adding a few cheap fluorescent bulbs can make a plant sugar up on the side of the extra bulb. Drinking a little if this doesn't make sense. They God for spell check on fourescent...lol

Just an idea jonny, didn't say it was the best lighting ever. You can get all the supplies for 15 bucks minus bulbs

I know you didn't say it was the best lighting ever. It's actually one of the worst - incredibly outdated technology. A few bucks more will get you where you need to be.

Check QBs, Chill LED, or Photon Fantom. CFLs are a waste of time/money.

And BTW - If you're trying to budget this grow out, A19 bulbs from a hardware store with the diffusers removed will outperform CFLs.

"In the LED forums, somebody did an Apogee [umol/s meter] test on Cree led lightbulbs [9.5watt] versus a 26watt cfl. [Both 2700k and 5000k]

The led put out 400+umol/s @ 6" from the sides, the Cfl did about 200 umol/s while drawing nearly three times the power."

^ That's a post from 2014. LEDs have become even more efficient since then.

Why even suggest CFLs when you get better tech for the same money? It doesn't make sense.
