Yes, Yes; you guys probably get these all the time (and the answer is probably in another post); but I'm a first time grower in beautiful central Wisconsin. I have done a ton of reading on growing and I'm pretty sure I got a safe spot to grow but I'm a little worried, the spot I want to plant in has quite a few pine trees around it. I heard this isn't the best soil condition for the plant. How much lime (and what type) would I need to level the pH (if at all)?

Also---I have a small little compost pile of grass clippings, banana peals, and coffee grinds mixed with the original soil; is it a good idea to mix the original soil, compost shit, and maybe some sort of miracle grow soil?

Any other help would be helpful as well as I'm crazy new to this, I hope its not to hard to grow!!! :-P

well all i can answer is about your soils. lots of people will mix their compost, local soil, and potting soils together for a good outdoor medium. I wouldnt and a lot of people will tell you not to use miracle grow anything but SOME people do well with it including one person i know personally. i would add a good amount of perlite as well. its pretty cheap and you can use it up to 25% of your total soil mix.

I would stop trying to overcomplicate things at this stage. Its a weed. Treat it as such. Sun, air, water and nutrients. 98% of everyone on this forum over exaggerates the entire growing process. Let it be a plant, let it be a weed. Have a great grow and don't stress!

for the most part yes but if you try and give it as near of a perfect environment as you can compared to some sunlight, back yard dirt, and some nutes you have laying around the house.

The acid in pine needles kills everything around the tree... it will kill it if to close. Can't get anything to grow under pines..
