If you give them just water for the first 14 days of 12/12, they'll stretch like crazy and you'll probably lose a bit of flowering potential because of it. I'd just transplant them much sooner and use less nutes. Your plants were very dark by the time you switched, so you can definitely cut back a bit. I try to keep mine just a bit darker than lime green all through veg.

I germinate in containers exactly like the ones you use, then I transplant straight into the final pot after about two weeks (even if I use a 10 gallon container). This makes the roots reach every area of the pot by the time I get to flower. We probably have the same root mass at the same stage, but mine is wide-spread while yours is like a concentrated cylinder in the middle of the pot, after transplanting. The middle of the pot eats a lot, the outer edge eats very little (only new tips of roots in there). Those fresh new tips get damaged by the same amount of nutes. In the bigger pot, those tips consume everything that is outside your root cylinder. In a 10 gallon pot, there's probably about 4-6 inches of soil between the cylinder and the edge of the container; the fresh new root tips suck the moisture out of all that soil. In a 5 gallon pot, it's only 1-2 inches. The outer edge loses humidity faster, resulting in a higher concentration of nutes in a lower concentration of roots. The more soil there is, the more water you use, and the more water you use, the more nutes there is once the water evaporates.

If you try transplanting quicker to the bigger pot, water only the middle of the pot (around the stem) for the first week or two after transplanting. The outer edge will suck the moisture from the middle of the pot and encourage fast root growth. If you water the full pot, you'll extend veg time by a week or two because you'll have a real slow wet/dry cycle for a few weeks.

For the first "complete pot watering", try to get about 25% runoff, that'll flush the extra salt (shouldn't be much of it since you use less nutes).

Sorry, i must not have been very clear.
I transplant into final pot about 2 weeks before flower.
I start them in 4 inch pots and then transplant into 2 gallon pots after the roots fill the 4 inch. I wait about 2 weeks and then trans into the final pot 2 weeks before the flip. I never feed nutes for the first week after trans....just water.

Oh, ok. I thought you transplanted just before the flip. But the same principle applies, except for the stretch. I'd just drop the 2 gallon pot step. You've got 8 gallons of empty soil accumulating nutes around your root mass. By going straight to the big pot, you would eliminate that cylinder of roots. Either that, or add another transplanting step in between 2 gallons and the bigger pot (but that's just extra work and stress).

Also, why no nutes a week after transplant? I just use more root development additives when I transplant (canna rizhotonic).

It was advised to me by my growing guru when he told me how to do the drain to waste method. He is a 45 year plus MJ grower and breeder but im not naming names.
I can see the reason for the root developers but according to Mel Franks they are not needed if you transplant carefully.

35 days of 12/12. Still looking a little thin but hopefully they will start bulking up this week.
The flowers seem pretty big already for 35 days. To me, at least.

I see they stretched a bit more. Do you know how tall the one you bended was before bending it? Also, how are the branches holding up? They seem to be a bit lower than before, but I can't tell if they look like that because of weight or simply because they grow towards your lights.

Planted mine yesterday.

CAn't remember for sure but it was right around 6 foot 7 inches tall. I will be tying up branches today. The weight is starting to pull them down.

I'm starting to think I should just do a one plant scrog... Your plants are the size of my entire grow tent and you only vegged 50 days...

Have you smoked any yet Dr Gruber?
It's like you're reading my mind.lol.

Yes, i smoked some just this morning. It was cut early so i didn't expect it to have the full flavor or buzz but i was very impressed. It's going to take me a while to get a handle on how to describe it because it was not something im used to, and i want to wait until it gets to full maturity before i reach any conclusions. I can say that i liked it and the buzz lasted a long time.
I only cut a small piece of branch about 3 inches long and the bottom bud was the only one dry enough to smoke. Based on how it smells during the grow, after a good dry and cure, i expect this one to taste fantastic.

Ok...just sampled a bud from plant 1 and it tastes fantastic. Spicy and a bit fruity. Reminds me of smoke from long ago.....
Can't wait for these to finish!

How did the high of the sample compare to the high of his other elite strains? Can you tell its high levels of cbd? I honestly have not looked to much into the differences between the high, just growing this puppy from your recommendations!

Starting to sound redundant..... Great grow DrG!

Thanks!
Im reluctant to judge it until its completely finished but what i can say now is that its a very different buzz then im used to. But thats judging a 49 day old bud and probably not reliable.
I cut some today at 56 days for testing and sampling...should be a few days at least before its ready to roll.

Yea that's great you can tell the difference now.... Hopefully it stays that way... Very interested specially how much drgt was raving about the taste!
