normally you end up taking a maintenance dose of an anti-psychotic - that is what i think that CBD can do.. there is evidence of it even helping the surrounding brain tissue, but i have never heard of a complete recovery.. i will certainly be waiting to see if anyone can do such a thing - that and for the ghost of Elvis to spring up out of my toilet and hand me $45,000, but hey - i am not going to give up hope.. go ahead and try - it would be a revolutionary miracle of science and nature - 1 in 100 people in the world suffer from a disease such as schizophrenia - you could make history..

have any of you schizo's here ever tried eating large amounts of cannabis oil. rick simpson has cured many diffrent ppl with your condition. i dont get why you wouldn't want to cure your medical condition?
schizophrenia is a lifelong condition there is no "cure"

i am allowed to grow a few plants, but again - i have never heard of anyone cured of schizo-anything.. show me one human being cured of schizo-affective disorders by any means and i will be there.. otherwise that is a plant that will keep my family and friends smoking through the year..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJi-_eqqubk

its around 4 hrs long. rick simpsons says he has cured multiple ppl from it. i cured my fybro 70% in 2 1/2 weeks with some oil i made from mexican dirt.

i would think that you would want to make the oil out of pure satavia strain. when i ate the oil it also cured the migrains and problems i had from concossions. it cures dementia and many other mental disorders. eat the oil, sleep, heal and live a normal life.

hey ford442. you watch that video yet? im going to be moving to nor cal in like a year and a half or so when my wife is done with school. as long as you have a medical card ill give you enough oil to cure your condition for free. my best friend growing up ended up having schizophrenia , o.c.d. and a couple other things too. i want to spend my life like rick helping ppl for free.

either the cure for schizophrenia is suppressed or simply hasn't been found/verified yet. Cannabis oil isn't too old of a mainstream thing in our current modern culture, and I never heard of schizo's who have tried it for their condition. So until I get a schizo's testimony of how the oil has cured or just even helped their condition I won't be amazed. However although I don't have a first hand experience, I do not doubt the potential of CBD on possibly acting as an anti psychotic. The evidence for it is small right now (a few links) but I'm sure with further scientific research this fruit will bust wide open.

I would love to try it but I doubt that it would work I'm on Invega and don't want to take myself off that shit again and go schizoid and end up in the mental hospital again.... So I take meds, smoke weed, exercise, try to eat well, and stay away from cigarettes and alcohol

I'm pretty sure there's evidence suggesting smoking cigarettes can assist schizophrenics in dealing with some of their issues.

Of course the trade off is rather harsh.

cigarettes are death - that info is a rumor made up in the 50's to sell more cigarettes - they would say something about how if you took them away that it would make them upset. so, now 80 to 90 percent of all schizophrenics smoke tobacco heavily. schizophrenia is a condition of extreme anxiety - smoking is like scratching the wound. people with it tend to live 15 years less on average - smoking is not a good trade off..

http://zzco.org/chris_bennett/christ.html read that. it about how Christ used cannabis oil to cure ppl and all these doctors who used cannabis oil to cure the same things jesus did. one of the things jesus cured what ppl who were possessed by demons. im not saying you guys are. I know your not but in the time of jesus they didn't have a word for your condition so they called it being possessed by demons. rick simpon talks about how he has cured ppl from multiple mental condition. dementia , alzheimers, schizophrenia , and some other conditions too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJi-_eqqubk . the medical condition I got is called fibromyalgia. I get extreme depression, anxiety, stress or I feel like I want to kick some one ass for no reason. after eating cannabis oil for 2 1/2 weeks my fibro was cured like 70%. the physical part of it, the nerve damage part or it and the mental part of it too. I still got it put all the mental stuff way less then it ever was before. all I have to do is vape in the morning and it controls it completely ............. just read that and watch the video. I know its 4 hours long but it is worth it. rick simpson speaks the truth.

The next generation of psychiatric medications are going to be made entirely from Cannabis constituents.

Lots of professionals have been using THC as an antidepressant, or marijuana for it's anti-depressant and mood stabilising properties.

What is UNKNOWN however, is that the constituent CANNABIDIOL, has been medically proven to be an Antipsychotic.

CBD is a Cannabinoid with NO hallucinogenic properties, and it is RARELY found in street marijuana.

Most street marijuana contains high levels of THC, and where there are HIGH levels of THC, there are LOW levels of CBD.

The Ratio between THC and CBD is always in opposite proportions. As a plant bred for high CBD content will generally have LOW thc content.

The next generation of Antipsychotics will be made from this Cannabinoid, as it's medically superior to anything currently on the market and is a natural alternative to dangerous psychiatric medications that always come with a cornucopia of side effects, like weight gain, dry mouth, tremor etc.

It is YOUR job to inform your doctors, psychiatrics, medical professionals and NURSES, that the latest research proves medical marijuana is an effective treatment for Schizophrenia, BiPolar disorder and other mood disorders.

No company on this planet would currently make a CBD antipsychotic unless it could be patented, and the US Government holds the patent for the treatment of neurological disorders using Cannabinoids, so it's your job to spread awareness.

Here is the published research from the Brazilian Journal of Medicine four years ago about CBD and it's Antipsychotic effect:

CBD as an Antipsychotic: [link to www.scielo.br]

Nice find LWD!

That is very encouraging. I did already speak to my county doctor about using CBD and he generally approved of the idea, but he laughed a little at the idea that it could be a prescribed treatment in the immediate future. I said 'maybe in a few years' and he shrugged a bit. Cannabis just doesn't have the same face to the public as a big company at this point. If anyone suggested this in the 1980's I think that they would be examined by doctors themselves.

I am currently feeling pretty serious withdrawal symptoms from my Zyprexa anti-psychotic as i am lowering my dose toward zero. But, this gives me hope that i can expect better and better options in the future if living with no anti-psychotics becomes really difficult.

Thanks for helping to research this topic! Like I said - i am very scatterbrained with these withdrawal feelings.

I gave my pdoc an article about this topic, and he liked the idea. He even photo copied the article and gave to nurses. He was joking about it, he said 'I'll tell the nurse to get your CBD ready". I lol'd on that one. But maybe one day it could be true.

Interesting cbd thread -- ran across it in my search for cbd info. I've also read a lot of positive info. in regards to using cbd as an anti-psychotic. One thing to keep in mind is that to be effective cbd is given in much higher doses than would be normal for thc.

It seems that for mental help cbd is given without thc, in the range of 300 to 800mg in most studies and even up to 1500 mg. This presents a problem with most of the regular marijuana being grown, in that, to get enough cbd you would also get way to much thc even with most of the newer high cbd strains that normally have at least 5% thc. So even to get the lower end of 300mg of cbd with a strain of ,10% cbd and 5%thc ,you would need to take three grams to get 300mg bcd but you would then also be consuming at least 150mg thc, which would not be to
good for some mental conditions, and 150mg thc could also counter the effects of a large percent of the cbd.

Here are a couple of links I found helpful.
This is the published study from the German ,double-blind randomized clinical trial , that has already been mentioned. I think it may be the most recent study published on cbd, and this link is complete with lots of graphs showing cbd to be equal to one of Europe's best anti-psychotics and also shows few side effects.

Here is an interesting post I found on the Social Anxiety Support forum. The poster called Cannabidiol started this thread stating that he suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and was part of a clinical study of pure cbd at 600mg per day. He posts several times explaining how it worked for him.

i am now interested in how do i get it? and how much will it cost?

i have some Dixie-X oil, but it looks like I really need to watch for stronger doses and I do think that the psychiatric community here in the states will pick up the idea.
like i have said - i am lowering my dose of pharmaceuticals to zero and it feels pretty good, however i have withdrawal symptoms that at least serve to remind me that my mind is not going to settle back into perfect shape. i really would enjoy trying strong doses of CBD, but there is no way that i can afford more than $5-$10 a day out of my own pocket. i didn't know that my Eli Lilly pills were $40 a pill covered by insurance. affording a good treatment on my own now seems more than a little difficult.

i will eagerly await access to the pure forms of CBD and i will report back here the minute that i find sources in the USA.
