I just subbed to this thread.....sorry to see you're battling bugs....I had a thrip problem and it's a bitch to get rid of these suckers.

I have a sleeskunk journal going to if you're interested.

https://www.rollitup.org/blogs/blog32876-sleestack-x-skunk-1-f2.html

The rest of my grow journals are in my signature. I'm looking forward to you winning your battle and having a good harvest.
spinosad for thrips bro...stuff works wonders. And safe to use in flower.

abamectin also works if you want something tougher in veg. Orthene is good stuff too for them and much cheaper. Neither of these are safe to use in flower....well maybe othene for the first week. THat's it.

really though whatever you do, increase air circulation and humidity. They thrive in dry stagnant air. http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s13355-011-0033-2#page-1

do these things and thrips are relatively easy to beat...

good luck bro

Yeah, battling bugs does take a lot of the fun out of growing for sure. They seem to have slowed way down, didn't see any RAs in the traps tonight (a few fungus gnats). No winged aphids on any of the newer hanging sticky traps. Not sure if these were actual fliers or just aphids with wings, I have read that some species rarely fly even when they get wings.

I will check out your journal. I have a Sleestack X Skunk #1 flowering in the tent now (freebie from Seedsman), also have one in veg I am mainlining. Took a quick look at your journal and looks like you have a more indica dominant pheno. This is my first time flowering a sleeskunk, supposed to make great hash... I will post a pic of her within a few days.

Hoping I win the battle too man, damage control is the plan at this point but they are still looking healthy for the most part. They got burned a bit last night because I hit them with some azamax and habanero foliar with the light just a little too close. That will be the last use of azamax. Also did a bit of a flush on those looking the most unhappy.

I wish you luck in battling the thrips, never had them myself. I would listen to Joe's advice, he knows what he is talking about and speaks from experience.

Peace,

Edit: damn, even tried to repost in a new post and still won't let me add a paragraph break... idk what is going on, I give up. A block of text it is...

2nd Edit: just fixed the issue myself with the help of churchhaze. Will post a link to the fix in a minute...

Some pics from last night. Sorry for the huge pics, the RIU server won't even let me upload so using photobucket....... Sleestack X Skunk. Jack Herer.

Sugar Plum.

Haze 2 Auto, she got the worst burn from the SNS203 dunk. Gave all the plants a bath with a Kelp foliar with the HPS off last night.

I also pollinated all the Autos last night and moved the runt Amnesia auto into the males room...

I got inspired by the "Hey You" thread in TNT............... Still can't format any of my text at all, looks like you and others can though. Won't be harassing the admin about any time soon (enough on their plate)............. One liner replies for me for the foreseeable future.............or a lot of periods to separate statements lol............................................ P.S. this text should be double spaced with 4 separate lines of text, all the buttons for font/image/bold/etc are missing...

I'll leave the post above as an example of the issue, but it has been fixed (by me not RIU). Churchhaze replied to a Support thread I started today and put together a mini walkthrough on how to fix it. I am not that tech savvy, but was still able to stumble my way to the fix.

It is for Firefox users, here is the thread. Instructions on page 3...

Shit bro, there are some posts I've seen on RIU where there's 500 words, no capitalization and no punctuation... glad to hear the RA's have quieted down a bit for the moment

If you hold down the "Shift" key and then hit "enter" it'll give you a paragraph space.

As I did here.

Thanks lilroach, I didn't know that. This was an extra weird issue. I would type out a reply in the reply box that looks fine with paragraph breaks etc. But as soon as it posted all the formatting would be lost and it would just be a block of text... Very annoying.

Its fixed now for the time being anyway... I was told by a Mod the recent issues will be fixed very soon.

Btw nice work on your sleeskunk, sorry the Bruce Banner was a hermie. Looking forward to your smoke report, hope mine turns out tasting like concord grapes.

My Sleekskunk was from a buddy of mine in Co. He picked his largest male and largest female to make some seeds....of which I think I'm the first to grow out this breeding. It has a indica plant structure, but sativa leaves....both are tall....if I hadn't super-cropped 'em they'd be near 5' tall.

Looking good as usual.

Thanks bro, most of them seemed to pull through undamaged. The JillyBean did get burned pretty good but nothing it can't recover from, mostly just on leaf tips at the top of the plant. I am sure it caused some stress. Due to that if it does hermie I won't be able to say it was due to the defoliation with any authority. However, if it doesn't it will be that much more of a positive indication.

The soil is pretty damp, but I did feed with a fresh juiced aloe vera solution, some silica shield, and a freebie I got called "Sea Green" supposed to promote vigorous growth... The solutions were not mixed together. Hoping the combo will help the plants heal and help the roots recover a bit.
Mostly hoping it helps the roots recover.

I am on vacation now. I set up an auto watering system for both the veg and flower room before I left, fingers crossed I don't come back to a flooded house or dead plants. Added a bit of SNS203 to the res water along with some nutes.

Soaked 42 seeds as soon as I landed Saturday, they still haven't popped the soil yet. Planning on hitting the trail in about 2 days to do some planting.

Will be using spirolena powder, epsom salt, dolomite lime, and some tomato fertilizer. Nothing animal based, don't want to attract the wild hogs...

I will post some pics of what I have been up to when I get back.

165 rep points up in smoke, that sucks... Feels like transplant shock! lol

Hope the plants are good when you get back. That would be a shame if all that hard work you've put in went to waste. How long you gone for?

Would be awesome if you were able to put up like a remote ip cam or something lol
