Caregivers Beware!

Caregiver-to-caregiver transfers of medical marijuana - a practice widely used by some providers - is illegal under Montana's medical marijuana law" a judge in Missoula ruled this week.

Full Story Here.

Im also keeping close tabs on the repeal bill thats on Schweitzers desk. He has voiced in the passed that he is against a full repeal, and many believe he will veto, but he has been quite tight lipped on what hes going to do since it hit his desk. SB422 has also had some changes, here's a link to the bill itself, but there are too many changes to list them all here.

Very disturbing what's going on though I like the no money for free aspect as I really dig the barter system.

I agree. Im not against removing the corporate greed from the program. But i am against cutting the patient list from 28k to 2k, Sounds to me like they are merely wanting to call 26,000 montanans criminals almost overnight.

I'm so irritated with the politicians in this state. How did these D-bags get voted in?!?! Some of us actually are here for the love of just the plant but there has to be some kind of profit to buy supplies and what not... is the state going to take care of us or what? This whole thing is so unclear that it REALLY should be just left alone until the elections. In most cases this whole deal doesn't really affect anyone directly or harm anything. I don't understand why people think it's so out of control... yeah there's 28,000 card holders but do you see them everywhere? are they smoking in public? Of course not!! So what's the problem?!

This has been one of my problems from day one. You hear these stories about people smoking in public, and shoving it into everyone's face.... wtf? Bozemans dispensaries are hella discrete, especially compared to what dispensaries do in other legal states. Ive never once seen anyone smoking MJ on the streets since moving here. Its more nonsense from the religious right who just now realized that, dispite what they are used to, they are no longer the majority. Granted, they are the majority of the house and senate, but they DEFINITELY do not represent the majority of the voters, which is exactly what they were shown when the bill went through to begin with.

"So, the 'people' or 'majority', aren't with us anymore, so what do we do?" "Table the option to put it to the voters in '12." Thats right, they tabled the option for us to VOTE ON IT AGAIN (i cant find the specific link, but it was House Bill 175 i believe). Sounding like some people are scared that their backwards views are not only being challenged, but greatly dismissed on a very large scale.

So, when Schweitzer vetoes the repeal bill this week, we get ANOTHER 10 days to wonder and worry if he passes/signs/ or vetoes HB423, which is now a 'grow-your-own' model. Grow your own model is fine, but the numbers are still being cut from 28k to 2k, and that ISN'T right. The second the number got that high, it was too late for them to go back imo. You cant just sign a piece of paper and call 28 THOUSAND people criminals almost overnight for something the voters voted in. Its absurd, and im probably about to leave the state i love over it. I don't like California (even tho i was born there), but the amount of shit the everyday patient has to deal with there is sure seeming trivial compared to what its about to become for us here.
