Caregiver questions

Ill start from the top so you guys have the whole story. My patient originally registered with a different caregiver. This turned out to be a bad idea so i offered to take over. We filled out the change form and caregiver attestation and mailed it in to the state with the $10 check they require for a change. The state cashed the check and i never recieved a denial letter in the mail so i am assuming im legal correct? I have copies of all paperwork and a copy of the cashed check. This should make me legal to be a caregiver correct? The only reason im asking is because i went to a dispensary in big rapids called grass roots. The owner started yelling at me accusing me that i was trying to rip him off and basically threw me out of his store for not having the right paperwork. He wouldnt help me or answer questions regarding what i was missing either. Can someone tell me if i have everything i need?

21 days after they cash the check, you paperwork is legal. You would need a copy of everything your patient had to send to the state plus a copy of the cashed check.

I don't think I'd serve a caregiver that wasn't a patient either, without a hard card. Can't blame the guy for being paranoid.

And i completly understand and respect that. This is grey right now he just didnt have to be a dick to me. Thats no way to run any buisness im not mad at him i just wont be going back. He kept telling me that i had to pay $100 to the state which i didnt see anywhere on the website for the program. It simply said the patient pays $10 for a caregiver change and i fill out the proper paperwork. So it sounds like im all good :)

Thanks guys

Just a side note, it is the patients responsibility to notify the old caregiver of the change, to be safe I would recommend a certified letter for proof of delivery.

yeah, paranoid and with good reason guess. I'd expect someone in that position to be a little more toughened and ready to defy the pigs though. Danny Treveno has it right, he wouldn't have done that to you at any of the hydroworlds I've been to. Those dudes should be out there like it's the front lines cause it is the front lines. Its my personal opinion that the dude who tossed you shouldn't be running a dispensary or collective; big nuts only for that position until this all shakes out and settles down. We need men and women with spines not afraid children-paperwork SHOULD work; no matter how much they try and scare us IT IS THE LAW. I know cuz I read it once a day almost and have the thing stuck on my wall like my Farrah Fawcett poster. Its never coming down!
