Carbon filter question....small 250w grow

Im about 8 weeks into the current grow and its very apparent i will be needing a carbon filter if I run this strain again, however i have a quick question.

My growspace is a closet in my spare room/office where im using maybe 1/3 of the closet space....its seperated by shelving cabinets, etc. The closet itself is not completely enclosed (has slider doors with some cracks inbetween each one)...i was curious if i get a carbon filter would it be completely pointless? The entire room itself stays closed for most of the day other than to water, admire, etc :-P so would it be beneficial to have a carbon scrubber in part of the closet thats not being used, or hell, even put it in the room, outside of the closet. Im not trying to eliminate odor entirely....right now anyways....but something that will drastically cut down on odor.

All input is appreciated

Is there anyone in the nearby vicinity that you DON'T want to smell it? Like next door neighbors, roommates, houseguests. If not, then no. You can try ona blocks or gel or use febreeze in a bucket with a fan in the room, that helps to cover/eliminate the smell.

You'll want the carbon filter inside the closet you're trying to eliminate the odor from. If it's not air tight, as long as the fan runs more CFM that the closet has space, the negative pressure in the closet should contain the smell fairly well, especially if you don't need completely remove the odor. If more is needed, I'd look into ozone generators with a circulation fan for the large room that the closet is in.

My neighbor about 400 yards down the road from me busted me over smell one time and I HAD a filter running. Luckily he gave me a heads up before I had problems. Lot's of people run without them or try to stretch the life of them one more grow... my philosophy is figure out the one you want and then get the next size up from that.`Change once a year.

That being said, part of the problem was that my hood didn't have a gasket on it, so I have to use foil tape to seal the glass. I also taped all the other connections I had. I now also take a slow walk around my house with a cup of coffee (admiring the landscape, taking out the trash, etc) and give long slow sniffs all over to make sure the filter I do have is still good.

In my opinion, smell is the #2 reason someone will find out about your stuff. #1 is talking about it to ANYONE! I run a 6" tallboy for a 54 cu/ft room with 4 plants now. Better safe than sorry. With 250W, you should be able to get away with a 4" filter, but again, check it often.

yeah, i could definitely do a better job to seal up the closet a little more, but again....100% is not my goal. I already have an ona bucket setup that i run in the living room, which eliminates the smell all the way up to the door of the room. once you enter the room, its quite pungent. if i could eliminate quite a bit that would be helpful.
