I read that Carbon filters are made with Activated Charcoal wich is Charcoal burned... Burned to Activate it... I have HardWood charcoal chunk for my Weber BBQ.. Could I just light the charcoal and let it getting cold and it will be activated charcoal??? If yes, why paying like 20$ for a lil bag of act. carb for the filters? I'll do my own activated filter and use it to control the odors in my grow room...

Cause its a lot simpler, quicker and cleaner. Lol But the luxury of having this hobby is that you make the best of the things you already have without spending any extra. If you have a idea, make it work and post a how-to if it works, just take tons of pictures along the way. Hope it works out for you dude.
