I've never heard or seen them before, but a that price I could be a player too with these new bar style led. Please if you happen to buy this and use it I'd love to hear your feedback on it for veg growth and flower, good luck and I can't wait to see your results!!!

I want to upgrade from viparspectra p1000 to the xs2000. I keep seeing carambola and white rose (same company I think) on ebay and the spectrum looks okay, pretty bare bones hardware wise, but if it works for one harvest it'll have paid for itself and another light. They're cheap, but might be a work horse.

I switched the light for my 5 week haze from a viparspectra p1000 to half of the carambola 4000. Supposedly it's 240 watts, I haven't tested that or the par. But the plant didn't miss a beat. I bought it for flowering but my closet is filling up so I started using it early.

It doesn't feel like I'm using 140 extra watts. It's considerably hotter. But "480" watts with plenty of red and uvb for 125$, I ain't mad.

I might get another viparspectra pro series for veg, but after that it's time to go domestic.

The avg price for the carambola is 280. I got mine on ebay, new from the US. I wouldn't pay that for it, but 125$ is great, even if it only lasts one harvest cause it's got 1100 diodes.

I got the Carambola 4000. Its up and running. I have 6 plants going right now. Afghani, Great White Shark, White Widow, Chocolate Kush, Fruity Pebbles and Train wreck so I have a good mix to see what is what. So far the lights output good numbers. I am using a PAR meter and have the lights set at VEG 75% and that are putting out 35000 Lumens at 14inches. The Afghani seems to like that much light. Ill update more as they progress.

Does it really pull 480 watts? Is their par map accurate? I'm digging the 4000 so far. Mine didn't come with dimmer though :(

This light has 4 different settings (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%).

This light has 2 different modes ( Veg, Flower).

I set this light at 15" above canopy.

This light has been on since 0600.

I took the following readings.

VEG at 25% this light produced 23,500 LUX or 551 Umol/s/m2
VEG at 50% this light produced 37,500 LUX or 863 Umol/s/m2
VEG at 75% this light produced 51,000 LUX or 1173 Umol/s/m2
VEG at 100% this light produced 60,500 LUX or 1392 Umol/s/m2

FLOWER at 25% this light produced 21,250 LUX or 489 Umol/s/m2
FLOWER at 50% this light produced 34,900 LUX or 803 Umol/s/m2
FLOWER at 75% this light produced 47,000 LUX or 1081 Umol/s/m2
FLOWER at 100% this light produced 55,000 LUX or 1265 Umol/s/m2

So if you agree that Seedlings through VEG, a cannabis plant needs between 8,000 to 13,000 LUX and between 10,000 to 30,000 LUX for Flower, You can also agree that this light is more than capable of giving your girls more than enough light to grow tight nugzz.

I'm glad I found this post and I hope someone replies! I have the same one, but I have the 2000w version. It's two 12x12 quantum boards and each with their own ballast. I'm kinda upset mine didn't come with a dimmer, because of how absolutely bright these get! Can someone tell me where to get one or how I can make one for these drivers?!
