Canopy space needed??

Growing in a dense forest, how much canopy space do you need to get enough sunlight 6-8 hours... These trees are avg height like 30 to 40 feet... How much canopy space do you need is 50 x 50 feet enough to get the sunlight for 6-8 hours ??

That's a tuff one to answer . You need to stand in your plot all day with a chain saw ( LOL ) and see where the sun moves and how the trees shade them. Throwing a sq footage of open area doesn't really take into all accounts.

Give me a guess or estimate ??

And the sun won't be in the same place in the sky come Sep......

This is also strain dependent OP....there are apps that help you track the sun....

They make an app called Sun Surveyor that comes in handy.
