hey mass peeps.

got certified this week . went to canna care in boston. they had walk ins i didnt have to make an apt
and wait for ever. it was open saturday which was super convenient for me since i work mon-fri 8-5 and
cant make it anywhere else without calling out of work.

I signed in, paid my $200 fee and waited MAYBE 30 mins before being pre examined by the nurse(believe that
would b her title) where they recommend if you are approved for your card that, when medicating, you vape.
after the pre examination i waited maybe 15 mins before seeing the doctor where he gave an examination
and got my certification. whole process took about an hr and everyone there was very friendly and easy to work with.
Note i have chronic back pain and medical records proving so for the past like 6-7 yrs.
so you dont just give em 200$ and ur certified. the medical reason must be legit.
with that said i Very highly recommend it.

also gonna be stopping in @ the Kings Green house in Leominster sometime this week
to start getting my indoor tent set up legally baby. very excited to be able to grow and possess my
meds legally as i hated being paranoid about using medicine....thought id share with you guys.

Keep it green guys. :leaf:

I went to canna care about a month and a half ago, took me maybe 20 minutes including filling out all the forms, when I called beforehand they made sure I knew to bring my forms and everything, they're really nice and make sure you've got everything in order.

Them not looking at your records means they are in it for pure profit, i bet you they have like a 5% turn away rate. Right now with the lines so blurred you can get a recommendation for almost anything. Do I care no, because i think cannabis should be legal.

But I don't understand why people go to these for profit "weed" doctors. If you are legit go to YOUR doctor pay a co-pay and get a recommendation written and save your self $180... If you don't have an open and honest relationship with your doctor and he/she doesn't already know you smoke weed YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG! If you doctor is not open to mmj get a new one as then it proves that he/she doesn't not keep up to date on medical journals and I would tell them that to their face when you leave. 200$ is a rip off as registration to the state was set at $50...

It is my understanding that if you are a dr and are affiliated with a a hospital it is not in your best interested to write prescriptions Or " recommendations" for the personal use of cannabis because hospitals comply with federal guidelines. That is why we need these doctors to do this work for US.
My daughter contracted stage 3 ovarian cancer this past year and beat it thanks to this wonderful doctor . She recommended cannabis for the symptoms my daughter had associated with chemo, but could not prescribe it"
So we need these doctors. What about the scumbag doctors who rip off opiate addicts for $150 monthly visits to pick up their suboxone scripts? Which junkies in turn use as currency with dealers in trade for cash or drugs ( heroin).... And my for profit canna doctor is a scum bag? He's getting a christmas card from me....
Canna cares for the win!!!

Very weak points man...

"dude is a doctor" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_Shipman <-- this dude was a doctor. You trust everyone with a Phd?

"was very professional and thorough in his examination" - yet in a previous post you put "they didn't actually review my medical records." Sounds extremely thorough to me...

People obviously missed my point. The main reason these doctors exist is because people are too scared to speak to their actual doctors about this. I got my recommendation from my PCP but also spoke to rhumetologist about it too, I have a established medical relationship with both. You paid 200$... I paid a 20$ co pay, that was the point. I can actually argue I got mine for free, cause I just asked during pre scheduled appointment so the co pay was for that not the rec.

The part about being affiliated with a hospital is paranoia (according to my doctor as she is affiliated with one). Also my doctor is also going to be taking the courses offered on mmj, so she can legally prescribe it next year. You should be urging your doctors to do the same.

My tone about these places are negative because in my opinion they are making a profit off of fear so it skeeves me out. If you have an approval medical condition for MMJ please tell me why you didn't go to your PCP or specialist first and inquire with them? Most people do not, and the only reason is because they are afraid to speak to their doctor. So they go to these "weed" doctors, these doctors see the demand and know they can charge a shit ton. What is the worst that can happen by asking your doctor?

The only reason you go to this place is if you do not have a legit medical condition. So, now that I think about it in the end you are correct, I should not be knocking them. Since I think weed should be legal, these are places for people who don't have medical conditions to get recs at no risk to themselves. The Doctor is taking all the risk, which is why he charges 200$ a pop and turns away almost no one. The profit he/she is making will greatly surpass the fine they would get if found recommending to someone without a legit condition (which come to think of it, how do you prove, so they are taking very very little risk as well). So it is very low risk high reward for these doctors, it really is a no brainer for them. So if you have no medical condition and are a weed users then yes you should be going to these places to become legal. I am all for that.

So I guess the people I am "knocking" is anyone who has a legit medical condition and went to these type of doctors first with out seeing their own doctor/s first...

Sadface, unfortunately you forget about people like me. I go to work every day and my wife does also. Unfortunately we both work for small companies that have insurance but it would cost us almost half a paycheck to have their insurance. We can't afford that so we are on Mass health. Trust me when I tell you that I am grateful for having the insurance! I don't know if you have ever had state insurance but when you look for a primary doctor from their list of doctors, you choose one and go to him/her and the next time you go they no longer take Mass health. New doctors will take on Mass health patients until they have a list of patients that don't have Mass health. Then they drop the Mass health patients like a hot potato. You CAN'T create a doctor patient relationship when you change all the time. I was ref. to Mass Eye and Ear for my issues and the doctor there won't give me a rec for mmj so I am SCREWED if companies like this don't exist. I hope you understand that these companies are essential to some peoples abilities to get the medicine they need. Please don't shit on us because some of us are going to these places for our rec!!!

Right on puck1969. Not everyone's PCP will sign for mmj. My PCP is ok with me using it, but does not know enough about it tnothing off on it for me. People really need to stop fucking arguing over dumb shit. Who fucking cares what others paid for their REC, Its not your $$$. All that matters, is now we can all do what we love without fear of imprisonment. So PLEASE shut the fuck up!!!!!!!! Im sick of coming on these sites and reading this bullshit.
its clear you didn't didnt read my post in its entirety or lack the mental capacity to understand it. as stated in my post, the purpose of the post is to make sure you go to your pcp first... hopefully saving money, which is clearly a care for some people.

I also found it funny that your post added nothing to the conversation so in effect can be considered bullshit so you are telling yourself to shut up. Seriously though, its called a forum, people post their opinions on them. I actually even believe their purpose may be to spark conversations and debates, fucking shocking I know! You may want to get used to it though...

Sad, I guess the only thing I have a problem with is you stated that "the only reason people go to these places is 'cause you don't have a legit medical condition". So saying that you just wanted to make sure we go to our doctor first is a bit of b.s. I am not trying to get in a pissing match, we are on the same team but just saying...

Canna Care Docs in Worcester, has anyone visited them? My PGP will not give me a reccomendation. I am a diabetic, insomniac with hypertention and acute tendonitis and IBS who gets a script for Benzodiazepine 3-4x a year. I would love to get rid of the ambien and motrin, and... well you get the point. I would just like to use a bit of it now and again.
Opinions welcome!
Thanks!!

does a certificate allow you to purchase medication or grow? i was under the impression that you get your certificate and then you need to apply to the state for a mm card and apply for an exemption to grow as well.

I don't think things are quite that firm yet. My understanding is that I am allowed to grow and use. How to use without a place to purchase is a mystery, need a caregiver and those are not quite clear either... I can grow because there are no places to purchase, that will probably change when things get clearer. I beleive I will have to apply to be able to grow, I will need a "hardship". I know I had to submit my recommendation paperwork by 01/01/2014.
Please if anyone has clearer info, chime in.

i read that on one of the cannabis doctors sites but could not find it on the states site. that does make sense though. there are no dispensaries so where are you supposed to get it? my feeling is that the politicians didn't really want this and are just dragging their feet in protest. it was voted upon by the people. give it to the people!
