Hey guys I'm looking for some one who knows a formula to tell how many mg of oil are in a canna cap. I make mine with decarb'd bho and coconut oil.I believe one gram is 100mg but when I add coconut oil what is the formula used to calculate its mg copasity?

95% ethanol-everclear will hold 27.4mg/ml of thc in solution

Coconut oil will hold about 20mg/ml

If your not saturating your oil then its just basic math, you cant really know the thc content, you could just say 60 but if you add 1 gram of bho to a few tbsp of oil just do some math and figure it up. There are what 15ml in a tbsp?

Ok 1 gram of bho and 1 gram of coconut oil is what?

Miscommunication.........

I'm trying to be able to make different dose caps. I can dilute the bho with coconut oil or I can only put a small amount in. How do I tell the dosage? If I dilute the bho with more coconut oil it is less potent. What is its dosage?

It's not just a mg matter that's why I asked for a formula. How can you tell what the difference is?

Maybe the real question to ask is: How much THC is in 1 Gram of BHO or QWISO? Knowing that, one could calculate the dosage per gram of BHO or QWISO. I personally like 25 doses per gram, but do not know how much THC that is.

Edit: Found a comment by Grow Godess than an analysis of her QWISO was 95% THC, making it 950mg of THC per gram of extract. That would work out to 38mg/dose at 25 doses/gram. That number seems high to me, as I usually take two caps, seems unlikey it would be 75mg , it doesn't seem that strong to me. Perhaps my system is jaded.

Its gonna avg about 60 %thc as i said
Ive never weighed coconut oil or ethanol. But the numbers i gave for both is accurate regarding the solvents solubility.
Of course you can add more extract

Not sure if this is completely correct but we've been using this formula for a rough estimate

(rough percentage of thc in oil * weight of oil) * 1000 to get total mg then mix with your coconut oil as you'd like.

So basically if your oil is roughly 75% thc and you have 5g total, then you have 3.75g worth of thc or 3750mg worth of thc. If you
divided that up between say 24 caps evenly, you'd end up with about 150mg each.

this is how I determined the total mg's of oil in my caps without knowing the thc

I use 14 grams per 1 cup of coconut oil
this normally makes me about 370 caps

1 gram is = to 1000mg
so for my recipe I have 14000mg in a cup of coconut oil
divide that by the total amount of capsules (370) and you get 37.83mgs per cap

When you make your capsules how much coconut oil do you use?

For every 1 gram of cannabis bud it is 1,000mg of dry weight. If a strain has 10% THC, ten percent of 1,000mg would be 100mg.

So 1g of wax is 1000mg of dry weight. Using qwizo's average of 60% (which I agree with) 60% of 1000mg would be 600mg.

Then it depends on your cap size and dilution...
